Not Expected But Not Surprised - STAGE II TO STAGE IV.
I get out of the hospital Sunday so I will make a more detailed post then when I am on my own familiar computer.

Hi Michael
Words are not
Hi Michael
Words are not enough at a time like this, I am thinking of you and your family, glad to hear that you are in good spirits long may that continue. I know you will be looking forward to going home, where, I am sure, you will be surrounded by peace and love.
Know that positive thoughts are coming your way.

Nice to see You
Michael,
I was glad I was able to see you today at the hospital. I know you are looking forward to going home it is so much nicer to sleep in your own bed and be around your own things. I ran into your wife and daughter at the elevator it was nice to see your wife again and you have a beautiful daughter. I know you are every proud of her, I could see it in your eyes when you were speaking about her. I love your line "there is only One who knows exactly how much time we actually have". Go home eat good foods and watch football this weekend. When you are stronger get on the computer and post. We are all here for you!
Thinking of you and even though they are blacked out in Tampa GO BUCS!

You have been and will continue to be in my prayers
Michael,
I was so sorry to hear the latest update from your daughters. I know you must have had a suspicion based on how you were feeling.
I am happy to see you have a wonderful family to support you during this challenging time. As you say, there is only One who knows what tomorrow holds.
I am praying for a rapid recovery from surgery and quality time with your family.
Best Regards,

Hi Michael
Hi Michael,
I was sad to read the post your daughters shared, but it was very obvious to see that you have a very loving and supportive family. I know this must be a difficult time for you, your wife, and your daughters. Know that we are always here for you and for them should any of you need a shoulder to lean on. You have always been a source of positive energy and it is good to see that you still cary that same spirit with you. I will be praying for you and your loved ones. I echo Erica enjoy being home, eating good food, and spending time with your loving and caring family.

Wishing you the comfort of home and family as you come to terms with this new information. The love of family is a life force in itself. Embrace everyone, your loving family and take comfort in the familiar surroundings of home. Sometime the peace and quiet of home gives me the space and comfort I need to think and heal.
With love and prayers,

YOU are in my prayers daily
Michael,
Was grateful to read a post from YOU, but devastated to read the post.
Know that I love you and that I am praying for you.
Hurry up and get home so you can watch some good football and be in YOUR space.
My heart and prayers are with you and your family.
If you need ANYTHING please don't hesitate to ask.
God bless you,
Eric0 -
So sorry...
.. to hear of your news, Michael. Take strength from your family and the fact that there are others here that really feel for you.
I was diagnosed Stage IV right out of the gate, and I'm not sure what kind of state I would be in without my support network (both real life and online).
Best to you all,
Lee0 -
My heart goes out to you and your lovely family...
Michael,
I am so sorry that things did not turn out for you like you wanted..this kind of shows us how these 'tests' do not show up everything.
I had a bad feeling when you said when they saw the hot spots in your abdomen that your doctor said he didn't "think" it was cancer. But I guess we can't fault the doctors as they are only human and can't possibly know everything. We know only God knows all things.
We also know that God has our beginning and our end written down so only He knows how long one will live. So put your trust in Him, which I know you do, and I pray God give you many, many peaceful days ahead.
As you go through the valley and shadow of death, hear this word: Weeping will last through some dark, awful nights, and in that darkness you will soon hear the Father whisper, "I am with you. I cannot tell you why right now, but one day it will all make sense. You will see it was all part of my plan. It was no failure on your part. Hold fast. Le me embrace you in your hour of pain."
So many things we can't understand here, why some seem to live long lives and others have to go way too soon.
There were 3 in the car that night with my son and all lived but my precious child. I asked God "WHY?" for years and years until I had to accept the fact that it was a part of God's plan. Just like the words written above how it may not make sense right now but one day we will understand all of this.
I know you are surrounded by much love and support through your family and friends, and know that all of us here are sending you our prayers and support as well.
My prayer is that you will feel God's peace that passeth all understanding.
I know it may not seem like it now but you are so blessed to have this time with your loved ones to share wonderful moments together.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.~Philippians 4:7~0 -

My husband and I are praying for a speedy recovery from surgery with minimal pain. And we are praying for you and your family to have strength, comfort, peace and (yes, even) joy during this time. It is only when we truly rely on Him that our weakness is made perfect in His strength.

I am so sad for you
Dear Michael,
This is such a shock for both you and the family. After Vince's surgury, when he was stage 2, to when the cancer returned was a really hard time for us. I know exactly how you feel.
Only God knows what will happen and all of us on this site are thinking of you daily. Its a devasting thing to get this news. If you ever want to write just e-mail me on the site privately. I am here for you as I have been down that same road with Vince.

Michael,
Since I read your daughters post I've been trying to think of a response. Nothing has seemed like the right words. Please know you and your family ARE in my thoughts and prayers.

So Sorry
Michael, I rarely have posted on this board, although I have been hanging around for a long time. I've been following you and feel like I know you personally. I always related to your name because my sister's last name is Hopper and she was born in '52.
Anyway, I am so sorry to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mike - you are amazing!
Your posts are uplifting - as always! How strong you must be to write with such compassion after the recent setback you received.
I am SO saddened to hear that the cancer had progressed and moved you beyond surgery options.
From what I have read of your daughters and from what Erica tells me - you have quite the support network at your side.
Know that we aren't any further away than your keyboard and there are a few here that still pull "all nighters" if you have an urge to talk.
Prayers for you and your family for quality, painfree days!
