I think I have ovarian cancer

Ask for a CA125 blood test.
Ask for a CA125 blood test. It is relatively inexpensive, even if it's not covered by your insurance. Though not a definitive tool for diagnosing OC, it can be a good starting point. The other tests usually done are an ultrasound and trans-vaginal ultra sound, plus a CT scan, if warranted.
I truly hope your symptoms are due to something else.

okay thank you very much. i hope not either. I'm in so much pain. I go to the dr Thursday and i hope they do something for me then. I have never had any female problems or anything. I thought it was from my IUD so i went to the dr yesterday and my IUD was perfectly fine and he felt my stomach and said that i didn't have any cysts, but i dont care for that dr. So i have made an appointment with an amazing doctor for Thursday and I told them why i wanted to be seen, and they got me right in.0 -

You've done all of
Kimberly,
You've done all of the right things, you are seeing a doctor. For what it's worth, Ovarian Cancer isn't a common cancer and often is misdiagnosed because the symptoms for ovarian cancer are very similar to the symptoms for other illnesses. Chances are that it's not OVCA. However, if it is, then read through this forum for stories from many brave and strong ladies who are living with this disease.
I was extremely ticked off at my gyn for missing my cancer until it was IIIC, then I read online that only 460 cases of OVCA were diagnosed in MD in 2003. That puts a whole new spin on things. He probably hadn't seen many cases of OVCA in his career. (if any) It is an uncommon cancer, so the odds are in your favor.
Saying a prayer for you tonight.

You should get to your doctor and have some tests done, CA-125 (blood test) and an ultrasound or CT scan to start. Whether it is cancer, or not, you should pursue this and get to the bottom of it so you can address whatever is going on. Don't let the doctors blow you off until they have resolved the situation.0 -

I hope you are
Hi c_3809s!
I hope you are able to get in somewhere soon to get to the bottom of what is going on. Please don't do what I did. For a very long time I felt that something was wrong but I kept saying it was stress or lack of sleep or whatever. And, although I did go in for my yearly PAP I never really said anything to the doctor because I wasn't quite sure what to say or ask so I assumed if there was something wrong it would be picked up on the PAP. I never realized that a PAP does not usually find Ovarian Cancer unless it's metastasized to an area where they do get the sample for the PAP. In November 2009 I really knew something was wrong but again my PAP came back normal but by January I decided I needed to go to my doctor with a list of all the little things I've been trying to explain away for a long time. I told her I would probably sound like a hypochondriac but I was going to tell her every little detail whether it seemed significant or not. Thankfully she wasted no time and got me to a specialist who was going to just do an ultrasound. Well, very last minute she decided to to do a biopsy without any warning to me. It was very much a painful shock to me but I am so grateful to her for doing that. Within a week I had the verification it was cancer.
Please don't be afraid to go to a doctor who can help you get to the bottom of what is going on. My sister finally went to find out what was wrong with her because what I was going through scared her. She had a lot of similar symptoms but with her they did discover there was no cancer. It was some other very easily remedied issues and she has been doing fantabulous now for about a year.
If you have a doctor who easily dismisses what you're saying and tries to say it's just some kind of digestive thing or whatever and do nothing to prove otherwise, I would suggest a new doctor. You need someone who will see that you get the appropriate tests you need to either verify or rule out cancer.
Praying for you!!0
