Update & Next Steps
Surgery (wire-guided lumpectomy) went well. One complication - adverse reaction to the specific sedation drug used. Left me feeling very "sickly" for several days afterwards. (Of course, my medical records are now noted accordingly.)
Last week, saw my med onc on Tuesday & surgeon for post-op on Thursday. Am relieved to escape chemo this time. A full course, 4-6 weeks, of rads is next step. Consultation with rad onc is scheduled for first week in October - allowing a bit more time to heal from surgery (and everything done prior to). Same rad onc as almost 8 years ago - love her! Immediate confidence & comfort levels.
The past month was a whirlwind - no, a tornado! - of doctor appts., medical tests & procedures, phone calls made & answered, calendar keeping & note taking, etc. ... Looking back, hard to believe how quickly it all happened. Am OK, not great, maybe not even good - because I'm simply exhausted, on all fronts. Please understand that I'm certainly not complaining, just stating a fact. My heart is heavy for all those here dealing with so much worse... (deep sigh)
Whether you find posts from me here, or not - know that you're all daily within my hopes & prayers for wellness.
Kind regards, Susan

Susan, Thanks you for updating us. I don't post too often but I do check in every so often to see how my sisters are doing. Glad to hear no chemo this time. What a relief to dodge the chemo. Certainly rads is much more doable than the chemo. Good to hear how you are going.
Prayers are you you.

Susan,
Thank you for letting us know how you are and what your next steps will be. I have been thinking about you. Its true how things move so fast and I know how you feel being in the eye of the hurricane. Although rads is far from a picnic, it is good to know that you have an established level of trust with your Rad. Onc.. Rest and stay well and I hope that you can watch the new season of Project Runway with total abandon. Love Surf0 -
