Alkaline Water

I think the only places I
I think the only places I have found making claims that those very expensive machine work, are on the sites that want to sell you the very expensive machines. I could not find any independent research backing any of the claims made for alkaline water or alkaline diet. In my mind, diet cannot change the body like that. It may change your urine, but that is about it.

third time the charm?
I keep getting knocked of when I try to reply so I will try to make this short and fast.
I agree with Sweetblood on the water. However there is a lot of reliable reasearch done by reliable and respected doctors, nutritionist and reachers that prove akaline (fruits and veggies)and acid (meat and dairy) balance of food is essential to good health. Some authors to read, Dr Mahmet Oz M.D., Dr. Joel Fuhrman, M.D. and Cherie Calbom, M.S. (former Mayo Clinic cancer center nutritionist). Also as stated in one of the links provided by Dawn and also spoke about by these same people I refrenced is the fact that to much animal protien (acid) causes the kidneys to work harder and drains calcium from the bones.
I believe in a high alkaline diet and am proof it helps with acid refux and IBS when drugs don't.
I recommend reading "The Complete Cancer Cleanse" by Cherie Calbom. There is a great story in the book about a man diagnosed with leukemia and given 30 days to live. Modern medicine put him into remission and diet cleansed the toxic results and helped him get healthy and stay healthy for the past 15+ years. Very inspirational and gives us hope.
My take on the acid vs. alkaline

Are there any bottled water manufactures that say their water is alkaline?

Doesn't Fiji water say that, I think? That is the only brand I can think of at the moment, I am sure there are more.0 -

I have heard that a lower acid diet helps with reflux.
I don't recall the specific issue, but my son's gf's mom has a bladder issue, and her doc has recommended alkaline water. Her bladder had fallen, and something else is wrong with it. I dunno if it has anything to do with being more alkaline than other waters, but both she and I think that Fiji water "just tastes better". And I always scoffed at folks who paid top dollar for water. I only get Fiji water on special days - call it "my" champagne.0 -

Yep, Fiji water is too pricey to drink regularly - and not earth-friendly to ship bottles of water here.
If there are any fans of the TV show "Red Dwarf" out there - my son and I call Fiji water "Fuschia Water" in honor of "Cat's" "family" (who, by manner of oral history mutations, called Fiji "Fuschia")0 -

John,
When you mention you used peroxide as a rinse in water what ratio did you use?
Linda
I had measurements at first....LOL
But eventually I'd just pour about 1/3 glass of water, just pour in a little hydrogen peroxide (probably a few tables spoons), and about a tablespoon of baking soda...
Stir it up a little to dissolve the baking soda, then just swish and spit several mouthfuls....
It doesn't have to be exact....actually you could use the hydrogen peroxide undiluted with water if you wanted as most store bought is only a 3 1/2% diluted solution.
You can even make toothpaste using the baking soda and peroxide mixed....
But mine was similar to what I stated above.....

Right now water tastes different! Friday I will be 1/2 way through radiation. Mouth is not as bad as last time BUT this is when it all started to go south last year. Husband made a nice dinner last night, I keep reminding him I need plain food. I couldn't eat much, suggested he take to our son's today for lunch with the boys (3 year old grandsons).
He did! Can's waste food and I am just at the point that things taste different, no flavor or yuck.0 -

Water is the only thing that truly satisfies my thirst...unfortunately during rads, it tasted like sweat.
