Needle biopsy tomorrow

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Well the day has come and we will be going for my hubbys needle biopsy tomorrow. Does anyone know if they test some samples right then?

    Sorry, another wait game. They check to see if they have a good sample. I had mine on a Monday and got the results on Wednesday.

    My ent sent me for a fine needle biopsy after my first visit with him, the only thing they told me after test complete was that they got good samples. I had to wait another 3 days to see the ent who said the test were inconclusive..thats when he set me up for my 1st Pet ...good luck

    not me I did not have to wait.
    Well, my FNAB was looked at right there in the room with me. Right when they were doing it, so I knew it was SCC right away. They did it like 3 times, in different sections of my lump. You could feel two disctinct lump parts. One was very hard and one was more spongy.

    We waited 3 days for Jim's report to come back. Seems the norm. Praying for calm as if you have to wait.

    NEEDLE BIOPSY
    I had a second needle biopsy in my ENT's office to confirm the first one. He was able to confirm the first test right in the office with some dye and a microscope.

    I sure do hope they give me some kinda info tomorrow... That would be nice, our follow up appt. is 8 days from the biopsy date. Not sure if I can wait that long. Sheessshh!!! Thanks for all the good vibes and prayers.

    I'm sorry but I missed your posts after Arndog's pet scan. I am really hoping the needle biopsy comes back negative but if their is anything there I hope they find it. I guess the best outcome is the doctor finds scar tissue and nothing else. I can't believe you guys are going through all this again. Well, I want you both to know I will pray for Arndog, he has already been put through the ringer. Your friends, Homer & Connie

    Waiting is the worst duty in the medical field. Hopefully they will let you know in 3-5 days and that would be monday.

    The biopsy went well. Was an all day event.... The doctor said things look good and the lump he felt was scar tisssue. He said "let's wait for the results, I have been wrong before". I am pretty confident that we will get a good reading. He said he would call if he heard something before our appointment.

    Even if doc says been wrong before it is good news to hear he thought it was scar tissue. Also good to know he is not going to make you wait 8 days for confirmation.

    good news, I would look at it like the doctors are not wrong "very often". they are certainly right far more than wrong.

    Looking for a confirmation call to you early to mid week.
