Another nephew update

Hi all:
The latest I've heard on my nephew last night was he has developed H4 Flu pneumonia but they're not overly concerned about that and are giving antibiotics. The really good news is he's breathing mostly on his own and they did start exercising one of his legs. Didn't do the other leg as skin grafting was involved in that surgery and they didn't want to bother it just yet. Has not opened his eyes again while Mom was there but they did put in a trach and feeding tube Monday. They were going to take away the percocet and see what that does as far as being sleepy. But as I said before we're baby stepping here and grateful for all this. He still has a long way to go. Please continue your prayers and that the pneumonia will clear up quickly. Not sure if that's hospital acquired or not; as we all know these days the hospital isn't the best place to be when you're sick! Thanks so much. Love y'all. God bless!

Pneumonia
Congrats on the baby steps....it all starts one step at a time.
I believe that it's probably fairly easy to catch pneumonia while in the hospital, especially while constantly layed out with a condition such as his.
I'm sure they'll get the antibiotics flowing through him for that and have it under control in no time.
Best,

stil keeping your nephew in my prayers.
Sorry to hear about the pneumonia now, it seems like one thing after another. Glad to hear that he is breathing on his own that is good news.
Will continue to keep him in prayer.
