speech by the President, really! F O O T B A L L ... up close and personal for us! So excited, so happy, and prepared to spend the next several months catching up on my favorite sport and past time.
Love both Teams playing tonight ... chances are Green Bay will win today.

As I am sitting here at my work computer wearing my "Aaron Rodgers" #12 Packer football jersey, the town is rocking. Kicking off the season has been a huge, I mean huge event here in Green Bay. I don't want to be anywhere near the side of town where the stadium is this afternoon. The NFL has brought in 3 major entertainers Kid Rock, Lady Antebellem and Maroon Five. For the concert this early evening a major thoroughfare "Oneida street" has been blocked off for the grandstand. We may be a small town but we can party like the big dogs. Here's to a Superbowl repeat "GO PACKERS".

Football~ I just can't begin
Football~ I just can't begin to tell you how much I can't stand it! I think I have an actual aversion to it~ for some reason, even the noise of the game, ( not to mention the OMG length!) just makes me nuts! I have never, ever liked football, and don't understand its appeal at all! I was even a high school cheerleader~ until we had to take a test explaining the game, and I had NO clue! LOL So, I changed sports and became a basketball cheerleader! LOL
Football to me means catching up on all the the reading and chores I have been putting off during the summer~ I encourage Reggie to to go friends houses to watch the games as I admit I feel bad that he watches alone in the living room! Sports should be a shared experience! We do host the Superbowl party here at the house~ I like that because I mostly stay in the kitchen and run around filling serving bowls etc. There are plenty of other wives who couldn't care less about the game and we hang out and gossip! If you asked me now who played in the Superbowl last year, I have no idea!
But the NY Yankees??? Now we're talking!
But, for all of you football fans~ enjoy and may the teams and players you love all have a great, scandal-free, injury free season! Me? I have 2 stacks of books calling my name!
Hugs,

I don't know why, but I've always loved the Packers. To me, there is nothing more exciting than seeing a game in Green Bay with the snow coming down. I love that they play in an old stadium without all the glitz and glamour of a dome. And, I don't think the fans would have it any other way. The fans are phenomenal.
Don't get me wrong, I was the little boy my dad never had--and we watched football together since I was about 3, so I love all the teams. Growing up in upstate NY, the Jets were my favorite and I had a major crush on Joe Namath for years. When I was a teenager, I think I even remember putting on make-up to watch him in a game--pretty sick, huh?!

the majority is the Packers so far! I just might go ahead and tell my hubby that is my pick 'cause I know you sisters are right and they will probably win.
I have always loved football, as, I was a cheerleader in middle school, high school and college and still act like one when I am watching football and my team starts falling behind. There is nothing like a cool Fall day, football on TV and snuggling up with my hubby.
I knew that you, Mrs. Tom Brady, would be ready! lol Lorrie, Go Packs tonight! Denise, how fun to watch your grandson. And Diane, it will be a good game tonight! LOL Renee at putting on makeup! That is funny!
So, Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!!!

Comments (or questions) for all:
1. Susie, I didn't know you were a big football fan. Sounds like you look forward more to the other game - snuggling.
2. Diane, you're right, going into tonights game, they have the same record, 0-0.
3. VickiSam, you're slacking! I thought you would have been the author of this post!
4. Lorrie, so...are you known as a Wisconsiner, a Green Bayer, or a Packer Backer?
5. Chen, I really do like football in the winter, but summertime - GO YANKEES!
6. Renee, Joe Namath??? You must be my age! When you were putting your make-up on, were you watching the game on TV?
7. Sushi, the Saints may not win this one, but keep your chin up. They'll get their share.
8. Camul, are you wearing the cap tonight?
9. Watching the game tonight...WHERE'S THE DEFENSE???
Have fun this season.

And yes, Marsha, I am old enough to have lusted over Joe Namath and yes, I put my make-up on just to watch my crush on TV! Sick as it sounds, I'd probably do it again--but maybe this time for Clay Matthews or my hometown fav--Larry Fitzgerald of our AZ Cardinals!

My grandfather owned a steak/lobster restaurant on Long Island for EONS~ and his place was used to film (OMG) Schiltz beer commercials for a while! And who was the spokesperson? None other than Joe Namath!!! He became good friends with my grampa and used to stop by the restaurant "just because"~ my grampa always said he was the nicest guy ever!! So, yeah, being of a "certain age" I too lusted over Joe Namath! ( didn't make me like football tho! LOL)0 -

Green Bay did it! I was afraid it was going to be a run away game, but, it turned out to be exciting.
My husband cooked a pizza for us to eat during the game and I had a couple of frosty mugs for some cold beer.
Pizza, beer, football and my husband!
A perfect night!

something pertaining to our 'first' game of the season -- I did get side tracked with my husband's eye specialist appointment spent 2.5 hours in traffic on the way to Beverly Hills - arrived home after 3:00 p.m. -- which is 6:00 p.m. EST.
Between homework, family, school and my husband's ongoing appointments for his eyes -- I find myself a little overwhelmed. Looking forward to catching several College games on Saturday, dinner with friends .. then Sunday's games. We will not be entertaining this Sunday -- so I can catch up on homework during halftime ...LOL It doesn't get any better than this!
FOOTBALL is BACK!
