Getting anxious again...

Here we go... next anoscopy scheduled for September 20th and the worry begins... then, I feel as if there is something there again. I noticed that I get that way.. all in my head. I feel good, no pain or bleeding or toilet issues but now I get worried again. Need your encouragement. PET scan scheduled for November. That will be the one year mark! I am so looking forward to celebrating.... a friend of mine suggested to take all the cancer paperwork I have and burn it and then spread it into the sea... just to have a ritual of letting go of it and looking at a new start. I thought that was an interersting idea.

thanks for all your support. then, now and always. glad this group exists.

I know how you feel, and I know 9-20 won't come soon enough. I completed tx 6-30-09, and so far so good. Everyday I see long term anal cancer survivors and it gives everyone hope. I think we know when something isn't right. Also with us being tested so often, if anything is there it would be caught at the earliest stage. I will keep my paperwork for reference, although I really like the ritual idea, and maybe 1 day I will do that. I wish you well. Lori

    Best wishes!
Gulamin, I want to wish you all the best with your upcoming exam and tests. I understand your anxiety, as I just saw my colorectal doc on September 1st. and even at 3 years out from treatment, I still have that dreaded feeling that something will be found. However, since you're not having any issues, I'm sure you're going to get all good results. Luckily for me, my doctor told me everything looks great. I wish you the same great results and try not to worry!

    You Are Normal
I am approaching my 3 year post treatments and still have anxiety before doctor appointments. I just had my routine appointment with chemo doctor and everything is fine but I still had anxiety before the appointment. I think this is a new norm for us since we know what we have been through. I will have a colonoscopy in November.

you are normal feeling worry. great that you do not feel anything and do not bleed, etc. i am 26 months post tx and i still feel a small lump on the outside of anal tissue(is it scar tissue??) that has been there the whole time , i bleed sometimes and have pain with bm's a lot. my colonoscopy last week was clear but they tore my anal tag a little. my point is that I have had numerous exams, proctos, and ct's and they always say no evidence of disease despite all my symptoms. so You will be fine. we still worry each time . it is so scary. good luck to you . i go back to MDA for procto this monday. hugs sephie

Hello, I had a skin tag and my dr wanted to remove it. He is a professor at a teaching hosptial. If its getting irritated I don't see why they wouldn't remove it. They might have a good reason not to, but if I were you I would ask. I hope I'm not being pushy. lol
    I wish you well. Lori

    Hi sephie--
I agree with Lori--perhaps you should talk to your doctor about removing the skin tag. When I had my surgery for anal condyloma a year ago, I also had a skin tag in my perianal area and my surgeon removed it. I had no problems with healing or anything related to it, so you might want to check into removal.

i do not heal easily anyway. never have even before all of this. my radiation burned me within 3 days and they kept saying that was unusual but happens. also, i healed really slow from all of that so maybe that is the reason. would be nice to get rid of the tag, though. i will still ask . sephie

    skin tag
Ditto for me too..My surgeon removed a skin tag , the same time I had punch biopsy.I had no problems healing .I do have a fissure that the surgeon will not touch. He is afraid it is too close to the spincter muscle and will give me problems later.Hope this helps...alyse
