Fibromyalgia and chemo

I don't have any medical
I don't have any medical background but my guess would be that it probably would intensify the fibro symptoms. My mom has fibromyalgia very badly and I don't. While I was going through the chemo and I would explain the pain I was experiencing my mom would say "somebody finally understands what I go through". I couldn't imagine having fibromyalgia in the first place and then having chemo on top of that. My heart goes out to you for having to deal with that.0 -

I was doing ok at first by second treatment I went on morphine because the bone pain was real bad and after my third treatment and really just in the past three or four day I have noticed that my fibromyalgia has seemed to get worst. That is what made me think of the chemo making it worst. My mom also has fibromyalgia really bad and she understands the pain I am in I will be praying for you and your mom and thank you for understanding what I am going through. I am going to ask the pain doctor when I see him on the 20th if the chemo is making it worst and hopefully he can get me on something that will help or increase the morphine because I am really tired of being in this much pain.

It's been a year now since I've had chemo and I still have bouts of really bad body aches. Especially in my legs. Sometimes it makes me wonder if maybe I do have FM like my mom or if it's still some lingering effects from the chemo. That stuff sure leaves its mark. I watched a program earlier this year that was trying to raise money to go towards cancer awareness and there was someone on there that described chemo like nuking the whole house just to turn off the light in the kitchen.
You've probably mentioned this before but I can't remember...what chemo drugs are you on? And how many more rounds do you have?0 -

I am on taxol/carbo with four more treatmenst and then also on advastin and I have nine more treatments on that one. FM is hereditiary so if your mom has it you might also. Make an appointment with your pcp and see if he will check you for it. There trigger points that they can test to see if you have it that is how I found out about it also with the side effects of FM. My mom noticed it first that she thought I had it (she is my adoptive mom not birth mom)she said I had alot of the same signs of FM as she did
