tongue pain

I thought yall might have sone insight as to when my tongue would quit burning? i am 13 weeks past treatment and anything i eat still burns my tongue. I tried to eat eggs this morning and they burnt. I dont know if its the texture (which feels like sand) or the burns on my tongue that are just still sensitive. I really would trade my taste right now for the pain to stop. Any ideas?

I am currently 20 months out and my tongue still burns when I eat certain foods. Have you been on diflucan it helped the mouth sores when I was going thru treatment and a month or so after. What about magic mouthwash? The lidocaine based one, that helped with the pain a little for me. Have you talked to your doctors about the pain etc.?
do you still have or had a peg? I still had to supplement even though I was or my wife was forcing me to eat. Taste, dont hurry that and you will find out that everything is going to taste different. My rad onc kept asking me about taste on all the follow ups, I just had to tell him that everything is different. THE NEW NORMAL.

    13 weeks isn't much time.
13 weeks isn't much time. Everything including water burned for me, for a long time. My tongue still has issues 2 years later, but I think some of that is my severe dry mouth. I did notice improvement when I started using the L-Glutamine. One heaping tsp of the powder in a glass of water and swish and swallow. It can be found on line or in stores like GNC, Vitaminworld, or a lot of health food or whole food and supplement stores.
