Jthomas233---Surgery September 8
I had my surgical consult Friday at Fox Chase. My surgeon said he was very happy with the PET and CT scan results..no uptake except a little in the esophagus, which he said was not much at all and might, in fact, be residual.. (not much cancer is still cancer...)...he called my tumor "road kill"...I crushed the Pulmonary Function Test...had my pre surgical chest X-ray, bloodwork, and EKG...the next time I go down there, it will not be a drill. I tried to push for an earlier date, but my surgeon said his entire team would not be available until then...called my oncologist and he said that the surgery still falls within the acceptable dates.
Feel free to post words of encouragement!
I played in a golf tournament today with a guy who said his cousin had EC and when I got back to my office, she was there. She (age 59) had THE last October and was doing well! She made a point of stopping by to leave her contact info. We talked for an hour.

Great to hear all things are set to go!
Jeff,
September 8th will get here quickly I am sure. You are on your way to getting this cancer behind you. I was happy when the surgeon said "clear margins and everything went as expected". Sounds like from the tests you are ready to

It's hard to wait, but after all you've been through, it will be good to have the entire team there with you.
I know you're happy to get the surgery over with.
It's good to know you feel well enough to play golf.
Prayers are going up for you, Sandra0 -

Hi Jeff-
Glad to hear everything is clear and you are good to go. I hope the time goes by fast for you and your family.
Sorry we missed you last week. Luis was discharged on Thursday and I sent you a PM. Luis' surgery is scheduled for the 30th so it's possible we may miss you again. If it's alright, we will stop by to see you at Luis' 2 week checkup, which should be around 5 or 6 days after your surgery.
Praying that all goes well.

This is Great News!
Your doctors words are so positive. It will be worth waiting for the whole team for surgery. What a special surprise to be able to talk with a survivor at this point in your journey. I am
sure that felt good having that time with her.
I will keep you and your family in prayer.

Good To Go
Jeff,
Glad to hear everything is going smoothly and you'll soon have the tough stuff behind you. Hopefully, I'm not going to be too far behind you. Reading your posts have almost inspired me enough to go to the attic and dust off my clubs. Good luck with the surgery and looking forward to hear you share your post-op experiences.
