First Pet after treatment

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Steve goes in for his pet scan tomorrow at 9:45, I am not going to lie, I am scared. I know how mean cancer can be, saw take a great man before, I know the doctors say Steve has a 80 percent chance of being cured, but damn it, I am scared, please pray for me to have the courage to smile and show him the braveness that I need for him.

    The side of caretakers
    We don't see as patients. You seem mighty brave to me. I'm grateful my caretaker was as brave so keep up the confident face because it means everything to him. You're a special wonderful person and he is lucky to have someone who will celebrate with him.

    A PRAYER FOR YOU
    Prayers and a positive thought from my family to yours. Waiting for the test day and then waiting for the read is very frustrating.

    Know this going in, there is a much higher % that the PET will be clean VS something to be concerned with. Once you get the first one past you, you will know what you will be looking at for the next PET.

    Stay strong, you will do just fine.

    Prayer and Valium got me through it. I'll be praying for y'all this morning. For me the procedure wasn't bad, the waiting for results it what got to me. Be strong.

    Had Pet done today, but won't know the results until Monday or Tuesday, the waiting is the worse, will let everyone know then. Steve ate dinner tonight and cleaned his plate first in a long time. Has a sore on his tongue, freaked him out but I told him its only been 4 months and sore will come and go.

    Doctor just called said no sign of cancer in tonsil, node, or whole body area. But Steve did have a spot on his right face show up the first time he had a pet scan, so they rad it to. ENT & Chemo doc think this is a false reading, now this pet scan has lite up a small area again. Doctor said it could be inflamation, or cancer says since it is only 4 months out they don't know so they are going to do a cat scan. Has anyone ever had a false reading on a pet scan before. Keep us in your prayers.
