Aromasin after Chemo and Radiation
I made it through chemo and radation....now my oncologist wants to put me on Aromasin.
Anyone going through this too?
I hear the side effects of Aromasin are bad.
Is it worth it?
I am thinking about not taking it.
Help!

Hi, I had lumpectomies, chemo, radiation, and have now been taking Femara (similar to aromisin) for one year. The side effects are not the easiest--bone pain, fatigue, sometimes insomnia, hot flashes, but I have made it through so far. I have thought of stopping the drug early on, but I am sort of adjusting...
Best wishes as you make your decision,

aromisin
Hi, I've had lumpectomy, radiation, mastectomy, tamoxifen for 2 1/2 years, now switching to Aromisin. I had more side affects with tamoxifen - bone and joint aches, hot flashes. Aromisin doesn't seem to bother me as much. Still have hot flashes, but not as bad. Hope it works out for you.0 -
aromasin
I had chemo first, adramyasin and cytoxin (sorry about the spelling) then Taxol with Herceptin. Finished chemo started with Arimidex then had surgery followed by radiation
and the rest of Herceptin. After Arimidex, switched to Femara and now on Aromisin...
Side effects with them all.

I had bilateral mastectomy, 6 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan and 28 rad treatments. I started Arimidex in January and tolerating it ok. I already had arthritis pain so it's not much worse. I already had severe hot flashes and they at times are really annoying. But, I will do whatever it takes to lessen my chanches of a recurrence.
