Ear Tickle pre and post treatment
Among all the other symptoms and problems described on this board (learning to eat again, dry mouth, etc.) I also in the last couple of weeks have been getting this tickling sensation in my right ear that comes and goes and is very annoying. There is nothing in my ears. What scares me is that I had the same symptom a couple of months before the tumor was diagnosed in February. I had an ear ache just prior to treatment and the doctor said it was referred pain but they never confirmed that the tickle was related to the tumor.
I am afraid it means the tumor is back.
Has anyone else had this symptom either before or after treatment?

Hi Lizziek
I don’t know about tickling but I feel like something is moving in my ear at times but there is nothing there but left over radiation residue. I ask my ENT about it once and all they could say is the nerves do funny things and give wear sensation following radiation treatment.
Wishing you the best.

Ear tickle
I think you can relax a bit. I've had a tickle (tingle) in my right ear for almost two years non-stop and in my left ear off and on. Doctor told me it was from nerve damage due to radiation. My right ear started out coming and going then started down my right jaw and now is there all the time. Never hurt but I always knew it was there.
If it starts hurting then I would probably be more concerned. For peace of mind ask your ENT the next time you are there.
Take care,

Thanks for the reassurance. I go back to Boston on Sept 6th for an exam and will ask them.0
