Please help me. I just called for my blood test results and I was hoping and praying that my WBC and nutraphils went up. Well they DID NOT! I am so dissappointed I could cry. I have been taking all the right vitamins. I always eat healthy and I was sure it was going to be OK. She told me the WBC is still 2.9 and nutriphils are 1.3. I just don't know what to do. I am out of Chemo 9 MONTHS now! I am so tired of this. I am afraid to go on vacation the end of Sept. due to my resistance will be low. I still have my port in which I thought would be coming out if wbc was up. I see onc. beginning of Sept.
Please if anyone has had this happen please tell me about it. I'm so down right now.
Thank you for replying.
Annette

You just have to ride out the roller coaster, Annette
Annette, I'm sorry, I don't remember what type of chemo you had -- I did 4 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan, and my oncologist told me it was normal for WBC counts to roller coaster up and down for up to a year after chemo -- mine sure did, for at least 6 months, before they stabilized.

Chemo is going to screw with WBC counts in most people, no matter how healthy you eat -- you can eat all the spinach in the world, or have a Ding-Dong with every meal, but you still just have to be patient with yourself and your body, and give it time to recover.

I'm sorry that your WBC and Neutrafils are low. I finished chemo Dec 2010 and mine are still a bit low. My onc doesn't seem concerned. I haven't let it stop me from doing anything. I'm having outpatient surgery on Wed so my counts must have been ok. Stay strong....

I had the same exact treatment as you--4 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan.
Thank you...I just feel so down...It's been 9 months! IF if went up alittle I would feel ok, hopeful.

Please tell me what your WBC # is?? What is your Neutraphil #. I remember you had said your numbers were low awhile ago but you never stated the numbers.
    Thanks
