Hi!
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in December of 2010. I have had a complete hysterctomy, tubes and ovaries removed, staged at 3b. had 6 rounds of chemo ( Taxol and Carboplatinum) Internal radiation 5 rounds of high dosage radiation. All is finished and now I wait to see what comes next. I am very anxious --every twinge I get in the pelvic area brings fears that the cancer is returning. Does anyone feel the same? what have your experiences been in this time frame?

These feelings are very
These feelings are very normal and will probably continue for many, many years. I have just reached 3 yrs. post-treatment and honestly, I don't dwell on it like I did at first. I've had a lot of difficulties r/t the treatments and more seem to pop up all the time. I found myself missing out on the days I am here... now I focus on them. None of us know when our time will come...do you waste brain space worrying about crashing every time you get behind the wheel of your car? Probably not. Learn to enjoy every day for what it is and eventually the threat of recurrance will drift further away. It will never go away, but worrying just depletes you immune system making you more susceptable to many illnesses.
I was dx a stage IVA. Will this ugly dragon come back to haunt me? Probably. A recent scan showed 5 nodules in my thyroid, a adenoma on my parathyoid. The cancer had mets to my lymph system 3 years ago. The recent scan suggests these nodules may be lymph nodes. Cancer? Benign? I couldn't get a follow up appt. for 7 weeks. Am I losing sleep over it? NOT! There's nothing I can do...time will tell.
Take a deep breath and plunge into life...it's much more fun!0 -
