Haven't heard that term. Can you explain the context, how as it stated to you?
I know our local center will reduce prices for some folks but not certain of the criteria (some they actually treated one person I know for free. It was called "Indigent Support" (sp) ). Several of us have gone the short term and long term disability and I am now working on SSI per my insurance companies orders.0 -

I have heard the expression, Share of Cost. Mainly at the Hospital. I think it is the new term for deductable. As for financial assistance, most hospitals and cancer centers have a fianacial aid program where they take your financial statement and determine if you can make payments or they write off. Also most states have a medically needy program. In Florida it is Medicaid.
I do not kinow what cancer center you are going to but most have case workers who can provide information on who to contact. Also American Cancer Society, call them or email them and they will send a list of financial aid programs in your area including non-profits, churches and in Florida food and utility assistance. There is a lot of programs out there to assist you, just have to do some research.
Praying you find the help you need.

I'm waiting to hear from my hospital to see if I qualify for their uncompensated care program again. I was accepted last year, and any necessary care is free.
My Medicare kicked in this July, so I don't know if that will make a difference. It's $150 pet month for that. Each of my 3 visits to the doctor for my ears was $125. Out of the $375 Medicare only took off a total of about $50-$60.
All my $$ goes to medical/dental/food. Lol0
