Yep. Hopefully they told you to take some claritin before. It helps with the side effects. Its not a bad shot but about two to five days later it can cause a lot of bone and joint pain.
They didn't say anything about claritan...anything suggested for the bone/joint pain?0 -

Like mentioned, I also had the bone aches in my major bones, back, thighs, etc....flu like almost.
No Claritan, but for me it only did it that first time, the next two I didn't have any side effects.
Best,
John

Actually as a side note...
I got the shot on Monday mornings...the bone ache didn't hit until late Wednesday fo me.
I was sitting doing some computer work and suddenly just about felt like my back went out. Then I felt it in my thigh bones, upper arms too. It only lasted a day or two, and only the first of three that I remember. It felt a lot like the flu as for the ache.

I was lucky and did not have to take the neulasta but there were a lot of others in the room with me who did due to infection.

While infection fighting is a benefit, I think the main purpose is to regenerate blood cells, mainly white.
So in that respect it does help with infection by boosting your blood cell reproduction.0 -

I got this injection twice, after my second and third rounds of cisplatin. My doctor told me to take the claritin and the aleve prior to receiving the shot. However, I did not experience any discomfort or reaction to the shot. It doesn't happen to everyone.
I did react to the claritin, because I am very sensitive to antihistimines or whatever is in those pills. The nurses were a little shocked at how dilated my pupils got...
