Some veggies release more of their benefits after boiling, like tomatoes and carrots. Some need a little boiling to get rid of oxalic acid, and in these one should throw out the water after boiling, as in swiss chard. Kale releases most of its calcium after a long boiling time, so if that is what you are after, then long boiling it is. Carrots and tomatoes offer other nutrients when not cooked.
Anyway, this site is a great beginning to find out what to do with your veggies.
Personally, I tend not to microwave anythng I might want nutritional value out of, I do reheat coffee, because I really wasn't expecting to have much benefit from it anyway.

I replied to this is drybrushing thread.
But have to admit I haven't looked into it officially yet.
If you start with fresh, organic fruit and eat in moderation, would think you would be fine. Especially if you stay on the alkaline and anticancer property side. Have you looked into any ph charts? If not be sure to google that and then decide what you can do to make wise choices.
I have a little postage stamp type of scale and the other day I decided to weigh out the bunch of grapes I was having, thinking it was a serving, maybe two. Turns out it was almost a half a pound. So I am now going to begin weighing my portions or sticking them in cups to see what's going on. I know in the beginning I looked at grapes as a life saver so I went crazy eating them on an empty stomach, envisioning them just killing my cancer cells like crazy.
Nutrition is an incredibly convoluted affair. It's a blessing and a mine field all in one.0 -

Yes, I downloaded a couple of charts from the internet.
I am eating cantaloupe, cherries, black grapes, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, apples, pears, bananas, and apricots.
I know that bananas, cantaloupe, cherries and strawberries are alkaline, but how about the sugar? Do you worry about it?
I really do not know what to do, because I think I lost another pound or two. I am now in 114, and I am 5'9" tall.
I have an appointment with a nutritionist in a couple of weeks.
I know that everyone who cuts sugar and red meat off losses weight.
I did back in November when I was diagnosed, but I was still eating some.
Now, I am not eating read meat, processed sugars, of milk at all.0
