Lymphoma workshop in Seattle...

Hi guys...
I just registered to attend the LRF(Lymphoma Research Foundation) workshop in Seattle Washington on Sept 24. It's being held at the downtown Seattle Sheraton Hotel from 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. I booked my room at the Sheraton for the night before and I'm super excited to attend. I decided to go all out, so I sprung for a deluxe room(10th floor and up) overlooking the Emerald City. I could of driven over the same day and back home, but I figured why not make a little mini trip out of it and enjoy myself....I deserve it, and feel I've definetely earned it...ha! Dr Thomas Miller(?) from the University of Arizona Cancer Center will be speaking to FNHL patients and other indolent lymphomas during a breakout session from 10:30 until noon. During this time we can ask questions and talk with him and a panel of other Lymphoma specialists. Numerous other breakout sessions will cover Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphomas...Cutaneous Lymphomas and T-Cell Lymphomas...Mantel Cell Lymphomas...CLL/SLL...Hodgkins Lymphomas... and Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia(?)..never heard of this one before. The workshop is free and they serve breakfast and lunch. Steve doesn't know if he can get off work to go,and if he can't, I'm perfectly ok with driving to Seattle and going alone. I love a good adventure! Anyways...I will take notes and share what I learn with everyone. Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    SOUNDS GREAT
I got an e-mail the other day asking me to sign up for a lymphoma podcast and to use my credit card for the $25 payment. WTF is that all about? No, I did not pay it. John

    Whats the organization?
What pod-cast site was it? I haven't had that happen yet, and you were smart not to pay for it. There are too many free pod-casts to watch on reputable cancer sites. Cancer Care and LRF are both safe and free. You can also watch some very good informative video's on u-tube about Lymphoma. Doesn't surprise me that this happened though..there's always going to be someone trying to rip off people they think are vulnerable...sad, but true.

    road trip!!!!!
    Hi
This is an example of your great and healing attitude. You have lymphoma so you are going to learn and have a wonderful experience I wish I didn't live as far away as possible in the US. Would love to go. I can't think of anyone better to report back to us. Did you hear the news yesterday about the couple(man has since died) of 17 clinical trial for curing leukemia. I believe it is gene therapy. It sounded very promising for curing other kinds of cancer. My sister in law is a research dr. and she has just been hired to speed up the process of the FDA getting medicines to the public. She said it takes 14 years usually and she will do the foot work etc.

    Great Idea !!!!
    Jim,
We could save even more if we just drive to Arabia and fill our tanks up for 16 cents a gallon. See how smart us Lymphoma people are? John
