Well here it is then of the day, I'm tired , but I think that is atrributrd for being there for 8 hours. My daughter and grandaughter came with me, while they couldn't stay because of the young ones age, since I was first in the allowed her to see rhe room set up, sthe infusion needles and bag trees, she was scared at all and knows that grammieahe is getting treatment to make her better. All in all today was apositive step forward, and I do know as time goes on it's going to get tougher, but all I can do is place one foot in front of the other. Daughter packed a great lunch with proteins, startches, fruits, snacks and ample drinks, had cell phones , blanket and good reading material. The staff is great , the outher patients, while haveing various tpes of treatment were great too we talked, exchanged ideas, laughed, slept , and in my case went to the bathroom quite a bit, thank you Mr. Lasiks. IK came home with a 5-FU pump, and it's taken sometime to get used to it..but just another step. The chemo nursed said I was infused with quite a bit of anti nausea meds, but said if I was going to ger sick it could happen any time from 12 to 16 hours after treatment, time will tell mayme no sickness, but are prepared for the worst with some heavy duty thinks to take.

Hi, Linda. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. We can compare notes as I will be starting my journey into chemo land quite soon. I don't have the details yet as they are still trying to pick the best poison for me. So, stay strong and let's talk to each other as we go through this journey.

    Thank you all
I slept very well, even adjusted to the small noise the pump makes. My daughter picked up a lounging pillow with arms, which enabled me to sit / recline while sleeping. Night stand loaded with crackers and liquids. Feeling good right now but the chemo nurse said it could take 12 - 16 hours or longer for any nauseau to kick in, fingers crossed it doesn't, but I'm prepared if it does. Still moving forward , anothernew day in the sw desert of arizonba.

    Nausea in Arizonba...LOL
You might not have any nausea, did you have EMEND? I did for the first three days of each of my big chemo cycles, mainly Zofran and such later....

But I never really got sick at all....well once, because a friend kept yapping about the chemo and what it was like, yada yada yada...finally had to have him pull over and relieve myself of the water I had drank during fishing that morning....OH, and to tell him to shut the H.E.L.L up about it....LOL.

    Exact Same
Same as I had, other than they gave me the Emend about 45 minutes before I started the gammit of fluids....and after the blood work came back.
