Well this sucks

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Some of you may know that I've been having trouble with the right side of my face, chin and tongue. Well two days ago I started getting that familar tingling feeling in my left jaw and then I had a "Hondo". That sharp pain that went from my upper jaw almost to my chin. Than goodness it was only a short pain.

Oh well just another "new normal" day. Hopefully it will go away.

    Sorry but I hope I did not send it your way. I know how bad that pain is, it is a good thing it only last for a short spell or it would kill me. I am truly sorry you have have this on top of all your other problems.

    PS: I love that name you gave it. lol

    LOL, "The HONDO"....at least it was in the jaw and not somewhere else.....

    Sorry for the pain Denny, not making light of that, but the naming convention is priceless....

    I can only imagine what part of the body a pain might be referred to as "The SKIFFIN", LOL.

    Denny, sorry to read that.
    That does suck. :(

    I always call those stabbing pains, ice pick pains. Cause I feel like I'm being stabbed by an ice pick. Didn't know it was a Hondo.

    I don’t worry my old boss had a parrot (hope I spelled that right) that he trained to poop when he said Hondo. One day the bird was on his shoulder while he was coming into my office and he call me and the bird pooped on him. I laughed so hard I fell out of my chair

    So watch it when you say Hondo, his bird might still be flying around overhead

    I find that stress bring it on more then anything and also when I am stretching my Jaw trying to get it open more then it will normally go.

    I guess Hondo and Pain just go together like pees and carrots, as Forest Gump would say

    I also called those "Ice Pick Pains" because it felt like somebody was stabbing me in the ear drum with an ice pick. They would also sometimes appear in my jawline. I got great relief from this by the addition of Gabapentin to my meds. Of course, now the beast is back and is probably chewing on those nerves again, so I don't know how long the relief will last. But, for now, I'm feeling pretty good until the hammer falls. So, I'm glad those pains are only transient because I remember many of them as being so horrible I didn't think I could stand it.

    The first episode I had to my right jaw lasted four days. I was cussing (without moving my jaw I must add) my ENT who told me the pains would only last a "few seconds" I always did enjoy the roller coaster
