Question about Ports

I have a question regarding ports and having a mammogram done. I'm for my annual mammogram in a couple of months. I have a port and I guess I'm a little concerned to know if anything happens to the port once they compress the machine for a mammogram. I'm still undergoing chemotherapy and wouldn't want the port to get damaged if the area is compressed to much.

Thanks.

    it went ok for me
    hi,
i have my port in and i had my mammogram done few months ago,
it was uncomfortable but technician was very careful with compressing and my port still works fine.
one thing to note - i have small size port, i guess they put in kids size. maybe it makes difference.
    best of luck to you

    Mammograms
I've had two ports and have had a mammogram with each one. The technician managed to work around the port, and there was no damage to the ports during the procedure.

    Ports
I had my mammogram after I got my port. I pointed out to the technician and she was careful when positioning me and applying compression. My mammo came out fine.

    I've had two mammograms,
I've had two mammograms, post-port, and it was a non-issue. I don't even think I mentioned it and they did not ask.

    mammogram
I had to have a mammogram done whilst I had a port in, my doc put me in for an MRI instead and this was great.
    good luck.

    Port
I had my first mammo and reminded the technician about it. Her response, "oh yes I've been doing this for 30 years, no problem". Got my results and showed some unknown area of concern and had to go back for ultrasound. I was a bit uneasy at first hearing of results, but figured it was on the side of my port. When I went into the hospital for the new mammo/ultrasound, it was obvious the first idiot didn't do it right.

Today I go to a different location for the mammogram and not had an issue since. Many of them will tape over the port to show that's what might be showing up on the screen..... Never had it jammed into the machine and possibly broke.

    Good luck....it's an easy deal!
