Yes, i do remember you Joeline! Congrats to your Father as well. Chemo and radiation, while nasty, does sometimes work. My father has 5 or 6 lymph nodes that the surgeon did not remove on the first surgery because he wanted to see if the treatments would work. Now he has not had any CT or PET scans done to verify this, but physically looking and asking my father if they lumps are still there, he says no. That he cannot even feel where they were! Is like magic! They just melted away! I hope it never comes back. In my father, or yours, or in anyone for that matter.
Take care Joeline,
A day always starts great with good news!!!!

Jason, you are correct...it is a great gift and a great accomplishment to finish treatment. It is wonderful to hear your father is up to going to a tractor show!!
You wrote "Its amazing how priorities change when a life altering event takes place." This will never again be lost on you. Celebrate EVERY day!!

Birthday
Congratulations to your Dad. I just celebrated my 63rd on July 30. It has been four and one half years ago now since I was diagnosed. At that time I did not know if I would live to see my 58th birthday. A lot of bad times, a lot of good times over this period of time but I am blessed to still be here. I used to live life more for the future but now I try to live one day at a time. Sometimes it is hard to stay positive with all the devastating side effects the treatment left me with but I just try hard to cope with what each day brings. God Bless your dad and all the friends and family that support him through this difficult time.0 -

Give your pop a hug and tell him how you feel...
I just had a birthday and it is a good feeling to reach that day again. We are all kids at heart as we love to have folks send us cards and give us hugs.
I hope you have fun at the show...0 -
Birthday
Jason that is wonderful news! Happy 85th Birthday to your father!!! That is a great reason to celebrate. AND the fact that chemo and radiation are over with, it is a double Blessing.
I hope you, your son and your father have a great time at the tractor show.
Peace,

Jason, wishing your dad a Happy Birthday!

Thank you all for all of the
Thank you all for all of the birthday wishes for my Father. We just got back a little bit ago. As soon as we got there and I got the tractors unloaded, he was nowhere to be found. Why? Out looking at all the tractors and socializing with all of his friends of the tractor club. We weren't able to stay nearly as long as he wanted to, but it was good for his mind and spirit. To see my Father, who used to go 16 hours nonstop not that long ago, to needing a nap after 3 or 4 now, is a little heartbreaking, but he is determined to not let this crap get him.......
Thank again everyone
You all are the best!!!!!
Thanks Again,

Tri-Generation
Great news all around....
Glad your father is finished and celebrating with you and your son...full circle. Things do change, the little things that use to be annoyances really don't matter as much in the big picture.
To me, some side effects of having cancer, and the treatment are actually blessings in disguise. Another look at life and priorities, what is truely important and what's not....
Best,
John0
