in Head and Neck Cancer #1
I dont know if anyone remembers me from several months ago. I am about ten weeks out of rads and had my first pet scan show the cancer is gone. I just wanted you all to know that i have stalked this sight throughout my treatment and have come here time and time again to reread your posts for encouragment. I dont think i would have gotten through without it. Im eating ok and starting to gain back some energy. I also went to church for the first time in several months today and it was like coming home. Anyway im a part of this club now and intend on being more vocal to help others the way ive been helped. I dont know why this had to happen but i know what i can do with what ive been through and thats helping others. Thanks again. You all are more than heroes to me.

    Why this had to happen to you, or anybody else for that matter, is not important. What is important is that you made it through and are here to talk about it. That is a great accomplishment. Congrats and Cheers.

    Side effects so far are dry
    Side effects so far are dry mouth of course although its not as bad as i expected, sore throat especially after eating but it doesnt last long, fatigued more easily, a little jaw stiffness, and a few sore spots in my mouth. I never lost my taste except sweets but that seems to be coming back. I guess the only one im worried about is the dry mouth but thats because i am a praise and worship singer and i worry it will effect my ability to sing. It has been a far worse trip emotionally than physically.

    Good to see you back. I think "lurking" is commonplace once you start to recover and feel like you want a sense of normalcy to return. I am glad to hear you are recovering well.

    You will only get better and better every week. I remember week 10, I was still dizzy, queezy, and not very healthy at all.....Give it amother 10 weeks and you'll see what a difference it makes in your health.....Congrats on the successful completion of H&N treatment 101. It isn't for the faint at heart!!
