wrong foot...

When looking for a photo to post of my iguana, believe it or not, I came across a photo of my injured foot and, unfortunately, it is not the same foot that is lighting up on bone scan now. I will talk with my oncologist about it tomorrow.

If I do have a new lesion in the foot, it may explain the markers going up. Don't know why the radiologist says it is an unchanged scan? The techs asked me if I had injured it and, when I look at the scan myself, it is very obvious. I need to let it go and let my onc and MD Anderson look at it all as the very worst patient is a nurse or physician ;-). What a crazy roller coaster ride cancer is!

    So...if you HADN'T been looking for photos of Fluffy, your dearly departed, 6-foot, rock-throwing, gourmand iguana, you wouldn't have known to tell your oncologist to take a closer look at your bone scan? Girl, you couldn't make this stuff up if you tried!

    CC, I'm truly sorry that you can't just dismiss the bone scan results as an old injury, but am very glad this crazy turn of events may have led you to address this sooner rather than later. Keep us posted.

    here you are posting different photos, I haven't even been able how to upload a single one to put a face to my posts! Do I get it right - you are a in the medical profession yourself? My friend is a surgical nurse, she has a rare for of cancer (is doing well, Thank God), her husband is an engineer. She told me when they enter a doctor's office he/she tends to franctically look for a place to hide!

    Im a neonatal nurse practitioner. And I have no earthly idea why I had a photo of the foot or even who took the photo. Strange, but, as Traci said, it is better to face this head on now--if that is what it is.

    A little divine intervention? Could still be arthritis or something else but good to know you should be proactive.

    'divine intervention' indeed ---
    Now that the big toe dilemma has been solved -- perhaps the pain that you have been experiencing may be gout, or arthritis -- bone spur?

    I pray for clarity regarding your increased markers -- once you're seen in MD Anderson --September 3rd.

    I don't know about you, but I would be holding my scans, x rays and running around the hospital asking every medical professional, for their opinion regarding my scan. Then again, we all know that I am ... a little off .. LOL

    Hoping you find a peace -- about all of this .. somehow.

    I am hoping it is nothing,
    I am hoping it is nothing, but prepared for whatever. The pain in my foot (base of big toe) started some months ago. I asked my oncologist to test me for gout and that test was negative. It is a little weird that the foot is lighting up so much on the scan.

    And what is really confusing is that the radiologist read the bone scan as basically unchanged but noted abnormal uptake in the foot. And the tech asked me if I had injured my foot. And, to my knowledge, the foot has never been noted to have abnormal uptake in all my past scans (I think this is about scan #6).

    I have made up my mind to switch my meds and will bring all of my scans to MDA. Lots to talk about tomorrow.

    and this is just some fluke with the toe. Of all things...

    It's good of course, to get everything checked out.
