Laurissa, I am not sure they
Laurissa, I am not sure they would start anything if you went to the ER. The ER docs don't know your history and could give you something the oncologist wouldn't. If you can email your doctor or put a call into him that would be the best I think.
I can't imagine how frightening this is. I wish I had some insight or information. When you talk to your doctor on monday, make sure he understands you want to start right away with what ever he has planned.
If you do go in over the weekend, see if the doctor you have can contact your doctor. He probably has some idea of the approach he wants to take. That will help the ER docs do better by you.
Big Hugs!

My oncologist gave me a
My oncologist gave me a number where I could contact her if I had some kinds of symptoms. I would suggest you ask your doctor to give you a number. And I would push for treatment as quickly as possible. Just the waiting will drive you crazy on top of everything else.
Hugs and prayers,

I think I would try everything possible to get a hold of my doctor. I don't know that you should wait until Monday. I know that most drs. have someone who covers for them when they are off. That dr. does have a way to contact your dr. if need be.
Hugs,
Georgia
Laurissa - I agree with Georgia that you should contact your doc as soon as
you can. If you reach an on-call doc, he can decide how to proceed or whether
to get in touch with your own physician. My prayers are with you.
God bless. A great big cyber hug to you.

What is this with doctors making patients wait??? Some people never wait long but others do.
I would be worried if I was jaundice but like others say the ER doctors have no idea. They might call your doctor though.
I dont have any phone numbers for my doctors.I would need to call Medical Society and they MIGHT get in touch with my doctor or the on call doctor.
Have you been given any idea when things will start????

Jaundice can be caused by gallstones or hepatitis or blockage liver ducts. Please call your doctor, he probably has a pager number. If you feel bad tomorrow please go to urgent care or ER. I am not sure if ER in your hospital is good and I personally do like to go to ER, however time is essence, it is critical for to get IV liquids to avoid dehydration. Keep us posted0 -
Laurissa ... Just a suggestion ...CAchick said:Agree with all
Laurissa,
I agree with the wise advice here. ER will not help you on this one. You need to contact your onc or whoever is on call for him/her. Sending blessings your way,
Sybil
Call your Oncologist -- leave a message with his answering service .. if he does not call back with 45 minutes ... get to the ER -asap. Please make sure it is the hospital where your Oncologist practices out of... scans, results are available -- on line as long the ER/Hospital is the same facility -- your Oncologist works out of.
Please please please ... call and go!

Laurissa, I had jaundice
Laurissa, I had jaundice once back in 1988. It was caused from eating shellfish that wasn't completely cooked, hepatitis A. There were no drugs or treatments other than to let it run its course. But, if you are concerned, listen to yourself, and seek treatment earlier. Sending strength and hope dear sister.0 -

Don't wait until your appointment tomorrow.0 -
Feeling for you
I really hope you are doing better. I have had a problem with itching. Then body pain set in. They say because of all the chemo and rad treatments I have developed a fibro mylgia condition. I started to get what I thought was blood shot eyes, Friday night. Now I have them turning golden on me. How does one go from bloodshot eyes to yellow? I could not figure out why my eyes were looking so nasty as they did not itch or have drainage etc. So like you, I am feeling in that what should I do mode. I had stage 3 bc (triple negative) and it was in my lymph nodes. However this past June I passed my three year marker on being cancer free. Now I wonder...is it back? Does it ever stop? I send healing thoughts to you and hope you have some comfort in knowing you are not alone with this helpless what do I do feeling. Hugs. And know I realize you wrote this back in 2011. Geeezzz, I thought this was a current statement from someone.
