Rest in Peace, Dad

in Esophageal Cancer #1
A couple of you have followed the bits of my dad's story that I have posted, and I'm writing tonight to say that he passed away July 23. He never even got to the surgery. Had he had a feeding tube from the beginning, things might be different now... and I don't go down that "what if" road with anyone; just saying it here, and only here, because it is what it is and only those who've needed feeding tubes understand. Regardless of all that... Dad fought gallantly and I am very proud of my dad, a hero, the love of our family's life. May he rest in peace. Thanks for all the support and information that this board offers.

    I am so sorry to hear this. My dad passed away a day before yours and it hurts like hell. I guess we will really never know why things happen. May peace and comfort find your family in this difficult time.

    So sorry to hear of your loss of your Dad. Hope you and your family can find peace in knowing he fought the good fight and of course he was a hero. It is so terrible that it seems like we are hearing of so many who have struggled with this disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.     Your dad was so special to you and you can't go thru the what if stage. Its just too darned hard to bare.All of our gallant men who have passed from this horrible disease deserve our admiration as they fought the hardest battle of their lives. Your dad was so preious to you and I am truly sorry for you and your family. Just know that dad loved you and he will be watching over you.

    I am sooo sorry to hear abut your dad, I know how you feel. I lost my dad on January 29, 2011. and I know how hard it is. My dad was a fighter as well, he never gave up. You will be in my prayers.
