I have been talking about my severe PMPS/neuropathy I have had since I woke up from my BMX with SNB and AND in jan 2011. Finally, I have been seeing the pain clinic and I have been doing wonderful up until last friday. the doc likes me to have light occupational therapy on days i have my shots. well, i forgot to remind the therapist and she had forgotten from teh last time i had a shot and told her the doc wants light pt/ot and we over did it. Overdoing it was massage, deep stretching, lifting a light play ball over my head and above shoulders to each side, and boucning a 2 lb ball a few times at a trampoline and catching it (which is a feat in itself before i had surgery, i am so uncoordinated.)I have had a huge set back in pain. tonight is so bad i cant get comfortable and am so upset. I have not needed a vicodin since early july. I am not adverse to taking pills, but I just don't like having the pain again that necessitates me needing to take them. thats all i can write. i am off to bed to sleep it off.

    pain, pain go away
I hear ya! I slept like a monster for the last two days. I am talking 9-11
kinda sleeping. I am 6 months past my last chemo and have some serious
bone, joint and neuropathy pain. And I feel like I can't talk to anyone about
it.. it makes them uncomfortable so like you I try and sleep it off. I am awake
early today, so that put a smile on my face.

Hoping that you too will get up feeling better today.

    Hugs,
    Ayse

    Yes, pain sucks so bad
I'm experiencing pretty bad joint/bone pains right now--I'm thinking from the Arimidex I have to take. I'm about to go to the gym--I might as well hurt for a good reason! Hope you get to feeling better.

    Sorry for the pain! My
Sorry for the pain! My doctor just started me on Gabapentin for the Neuropothy and leg pain. Following Neulesta and Xgeva, the pain has been absolutely horrendous. I am hoping this will help!

I tried light exercizing and my legs cramped so bad, but theraputic massages following the shots have been extremely helpful, and free through the Cancer Wellness House!

    Hope the pain goes away!

Hi Carol, I am up to 1800
Hi Carol, I am up to 1800 mg/day of gabapentin and 25 mg amytriptoline to help me sleep (the pain would wake me up at night when I would roll when I sleep and I guess I would moan when I was uncomfortable, too). I get nerve blocks weekly for the right side in my neck, and looks like every other week I get cortisone shots for areas the nerve block doesnt get. The pain dr. wants to get the worse right side under control then work on the left side which isn't as bad as the right. The gabapentin can make me feel loopy, almost like an alcohol induced buzzed sometimes, and can make me tired. It was worse in the beginning. But the gabapentin has really helped me. Hopefully your dr. or pharmacist told you that gabapentin's therapuetic effects aren't immediate. It takes awhile to build up in your system, think they told me 2-3 weeks but I can't remember exactly. Good luck with your treatments and pain management!! Let me know how you are doing.
