Nipple reconstruction Q's?

What type of nipple reconstruction have you had/heard about or discussed with your PS?
Are you ok with the results? Did you have complications? How long did it take and was it an outpatient procedure? What style did your PS go with and were fillers used? Who did your tattoo? Was it a lot darker at first?

Just sort of conducting my own mini poll I guess..! =)

    I had a modified CV or Skate flap. I did have some healing issues on the left side ... part of it died but it is OK now. I had my nip surgery in Dec. and on the left side ... it's almost completely flattened out. My right has shrunk quite a lot (which they will do) but there is still some projection. Of all the reconstructive surgeries I've had, getting the nips made me feel almost physically whole again. I had no fillers used. I have yet to do my tats but will go to a professional cosmetic tattoo artist to have them done. My PS uses his PA's to do the tats and I just don't feel comfortable with that ... I want someone who does tats everyday to do mine.

    My PS actually did my nipple the same time she did my exchange surgery. I don't know what it is called, but she just used the skin on my breast and "pinched" it to make my nipple. I just had my tattoo done in June and absolutely love it! I had it done at my PS office. I had a uni-lateral mastectomy, so the hardest part was matching my new nip to my old nip. LOL. It was a little darker at first, but is lightening up. My hubby was amazed how good it looks.

    Skate flap
    Hi Jendry,

    I had the skate flap surgery. The actual procedure took about an hour in the day surgery wing in the hospital. Even though it was in the hospital, only licks anesthetic was used and I was awake and alert the entire time. It was not at all painful and healing was quick. I am just waiting to get tattooed now. I had an appointment for last month that got cancelled and now I am going to do it in September. I didn't want the tattooed to interfere with summer activities. I can't wait, though as when it is finished, I am pretty sure my girls will look quite realistic.
