QUESTION? Mom in pain!
I am also beginning to think about the hormonal changes that soon should probably take place. Am i correct? I mean how do u produce the necessary hormones without ur reproductive organs? I am guessing estrogen replacements and such but i am thinking that she already was in menopause so she should have already gone through with that. I love how they told her not to put anything in her vagina as if that is the first thing on anyones mind. Who knows these days! Some people are like wild animals. I don't think I would want to do anything ever again. I don't even care now and i am fine. Ha!

Not much I can add
Hi,
just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and your mum. For me, the combination of stool softeners, lots of fluid, fibre and glyerine suppositories remain the only way I stay on top of the constipation. If that combination doesn't help then I can only imagine that talking to the doctor about it is the only answer. You need to keep the doctor informed if your mum cannot use her bowels. It's a serious problem and, as you say, way too painful. I find that the effort to go also makes my varicose veins worse. But I keep such a close eye on how often I go now that I don't let it get that bad.
I think you're right about hormones probably not being a factor if she's already been through menopause, but again it's always worth asking the doctor.
For now,
Take good care, and my best wishes to your mum,

So sorry
Sorry to hear your mum is so uncomfortable, my mum has always suffered with constipation and after surgery it was really bad, doc gave her something and also told her to continue with senacot, she also ate anything she could think of to help things get moving! Mum had her bowel moved around quite a bit in surgery as it was stuck to other parts of her stomach, it took a good while to settle, the bowel hates being disturbed, I would say it is very early days, keep on with all you can think of to help but if your mum is worried that the pain is not run of the mill then speak with the doc.... hope things settle soon, love to you both X0 -

She is like afraid of miralax. From all of her colonoscopies. It brings back bad memories. I think it's more this painful wind thing.0
