OK here is another thing that is fresking me out. Jim now gets severe shakes/ tremors. He was having them a little in the hospital but they seem to be getting more frequent. I wonder if it is stress, anxiety, meds or nerve damage. Anyone del with this?

Thanks
Debbie

    Tremors
    Debbie,
Sorry - I forget - is Jim doing chemo now? I had tremors and leg and arm "jerks" for a while - seemed worse at night. I did this when I was getting Cisplatin, taxotere and 5FU. It was a listed side effect for one of my drugs.

    He had his last cesplatin
He had his last cesplatin wednesday two weeks ago which put him in the hospital for 7 days. The doctor said it was out of his system but the side effects would linger for about ten days. I hope that is all it is

    The Shakes
I also had some shakes/tremors on occasion, though I wouldn't classify them as severe. I had rads & chemo (cistplatin), but am not sure which one was the main culprit, maybe both. Disappeared after treatment was completed. Sure hope your road starts getting less bumpy and soon. Cheers.

    nutrition
Good comments from others, but also consider dehydration and nutritional imbalance as possible causes, along with the anxiety you suggest yourself. I've noticed that when I am not eating as I should be I develop symptoms of the kind you describe, and I have always (uneducationally, by the way) attributed this to insufficient sugar intake or maybe anemia.

Best wishes to you and your loved one.

    Take care,

    Joe

    Excellent Comments
Joe hit it exactly on what I was going to say.....

I did have some extreme chills and fevers, but eventually figured it out as a reaction to the last few doses of Amifostine that I was getting everyday in the stomach just before radiation....

    Tremors & Shakes
I was getting them, but mine were from medication. I had to go off the Reglan (metacloprimide) they had me on, because it was getting bad. My limbs would twitch really bad and my head would jerk and shake.

Buzz did not experience tremors but has some nerve damage from the Taxotere. Hard to say what is causing the tremors. Karen

    I'm sure.
That twittching and jerking, was back when I could hardly get out of bed still. I can hardly belly dance, and don't know many moves, and they are definitely not done well when I do them, but there is a big difference between a hip shimmy and a leg twitch and a head slide and a head jerk. Lol.

    The doctor filling in for
The doctor filling in for our regular Rad doctor said, "Don't know what is causing them." when I asked about it. Nurse said it could be muscle weakness and lack of nutrician. Nutricianist just increased the feeding to six canns so hoprfully that helps.

    Thanks everyone for the information.
