Hey Kids,

Hope all my CSN buds are hanging in there! I've been a lurker lately, only able to check in once a week or so as it's been a hectic summer for me. Back to my 55+ hour work week plus playing catch-up for everything (fun) I missed last summer. My wife and I have been traveling every weekend with a few weeklong trips thrown in as well. Enjoying every single minute of it!!

I did want to show my new tattoo. John (fisrpotpe)kindly let me borrow his design. As soon as I saw his I knew that was the one I wanted. So when I hit my 1 year post tx in April of this year, started my search for a tat guy. Anyways here it is (also put one up on expression page in case this one didn't come up). Thanks again John (fisrpotpe)!

For any newbies that don't recognize me or any of you old coots who tried to forget me - 15 months post tx for SCC left tonsil with bilateral mets to 11 nodes, staged IVa. Had tonsil removed along with radical neck dissection followed by 3 treatments of Cisplatin and 35 days of rads. Doing great - fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, traveling and just enjoyng being with wife, family and friends!!

Hope everyone is doing well! Even though I'm not on here much I think of all my CSN friends daily.

Positive thoughts to everyone!

Greg

oh, if I may be so bold.... 55 plus is way to much, i did same and even more. can't say it took me down but after 12 years this bug was hit by the windshield again and now I am on disability.

Looking for more than the 15 years i have survived from you!

    John,

Couldn't agree more that we're all a team. As for the 15 years, that would be awesome and something to shoot for, but for now I'm enjoying it day by day. Maybe we just hook up for dinner every year when you make it into town and see if we can both make it another 15! And seriously you are definitely one of my heroes. Not because you have survived 15 years, but how you're still giving back and helping others.

    Thanks again sir!

    Greg

ps - I will try and cut back on those work hours also

    Nice Tattoo
I'm still in the "sorting it out" phase as far as tattoos go. Have considered different designs, and thought of different potential tattoo sites. Since I'm still unemployed now (need a job ASAP), tattoo will be later. I did tell my son that if I "live through this", I'd get a tattoo. Got clean scans in April - wondering if I should get my tattoo as soon as I can afford it, or wait until next June - that'll be 18 months after my dissection (last phase of treatment). 18 months is what my radiologist started saying we're aiming for later in treatment(when I started treatment, they all said "five years"). Good to hear you're enjoying yourself, and are going to cut back on your work hours.

Greg, Nice to hear you are
Greg, Nice to hear you are doing well. Thank you for all the encouragement you gave Connie & I through all your post to us. All were appreciated! Every once in a while between fishing, kayaking, camping, traveling and most importantly enjoying your family and friends, drop us a line. Living everyday as if it were your last now that's the only way to live. Happy Trails, Homer & Connie

Thanks Greg. Reading that you are fishing, hiking and canoeing is inspiring and gives Jim and I hope that we can fish, camp, hike and kayak and fish some more when this is over.
    Can't wait!

    Fishing
LOL, now you are talking my language...LOL, check my expressions page.

Fishing has always been huge in my life, even though I did cut back during treatment. My wife and I did get out during treatment and a few friends occasionally. Now two years post treatment, I get out nearly everyweek-end.

    Survivor Tat
    I saw this one on a friend and decided to share;

    Survivor

I'm still in the planning stage, but I do plan on getting one....

Time might be right if this upcoming PET on July 25 keeps me still in the NED column....

Thanks for comments on the tat everyone. I'm actually dang proud of it. It does represent a lot for me: rough-arse treatments, where I'm trying to be these days (better person and enjoy life to the fullest) and also reminds me of all my friends here on CSN.

Nice hearing from you again, Sweet and Pam. Debbie, you and Jim will be back kayaking before you know it. Mike, 2 words, lunch Johnnies. Homer, great new pic of Connie - and you look exactly how I pictured you all along - lol. And Mr. Skiffen (I always pay my respect to my elders) I've been anxiously waiting to see yours (tattoo).

John, I love the other phoenix, T2. It's the wall paper on my iPhone. If I was brave, that is what I would like. Actually, I really what a Renaissance style cross on the inside of my left hip bone.

    Phoenix T2

This is the one you are referring....it is nice too, forgot about that one, but more suited for a lady like yourself.
