I didn't juice through
I didn't juice through treatment. The only juice I put through was prune juice, and for a while, every thing I put through made me have heart burn. Fruit juice is pretty acidic, and could upset your stomach. Hard to say what would work for you. I know citrus was always something that bothered my stomach.0 -

Thanks for the response. I was beginning to wonder if anyone juiced.
Another question, How long after treatment before you started to juice again?
Thanks again. Hope your ear is feeling better. Still praying for you.

Well, I'm probably not the best example, as I was so sick after my radiation and I couldn't drink anything for about 5 months, and didn't eat anything at all for 9. My mouth was a raw, sore on top of sore, bloody mess. :-/ So for me it was over a year, easy. But their are others who started back up quickly, as soon as their mouths and bellies could handle it.
Why I didn't think to juice, and put it through my tube, I don't know. I started taking the l-glutamine, and that seemed to make me better tolerate the juicing. I still use a heaping tsp in my juice or smoothie every day. The l-glutamine is good for oral and intestine musosa.
It's one of those things that will vary for every one. For me it was a time of trial and error. I think I started with apples, carrot, celery, cucumber, and melon juice in the begining. I didn't add citrus until later.
Oh. And my chest is getting better little by little, but my ears are still the same. Thank you for asking. And for the continued prayer.0 -
We juiced and still are juicing through the PEG.
We use our juicer and blender every day for PEG food. Green juice (kale, spinach, chard, celery, broccoli etc) and LOTS of carrot juice, I always blend green leafy with beets and/or carrots, the juicer works better that way plus it's a better balance of raw food I figure.
Haven't had any problems at all putting fresh juice through the PEG, always flush with water. I also make PEG blender smoothies with whole banana, avocado, mango, silken tofu and all sorts of ingredients, sometimes if they're thick I have to use the syringe plunger (slowly!) to get them through. If I thin the mixture with coconut water or something similar, I do get an easy flow, but then I lose the concentrated nutrition. It's a balancing act you learn to adjust for when trying to get most (or all) daily calories via PEG.0
