I am so sorry you are going through this. I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to let you know you are both in my prayers. EC is so difficult.

Hi, I have no experience with anything to do with what you are going through, but just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and hoping they get this sorted out quickly.

Steve vomited some blood the night of his esophageal stent placement. It really is so scary. Please know we are thinking of you both

Well, Rickie is still in the hospital although at this point we are not sure why. He has not had any more coughing up blood since 3o'clock Saturday morning in the ER. GI dr. said it was probably from the stretching, although he didn't go into why that would cause this, but said he did not want to go back in to look at this time. Felt it would heal up fine. The oncologist came by today and said everything looked good and thought he could go home today. The admitting dr. came by and said you can go home today, then a little later he came in and said that the blood work from this morning had shown that the red blood count had dropped so wants to keep him to make sure he is not still bleeding and may need to have blood transfusion. Rickie was not a happy camper. He really just wanted to come home. He looks good, his color is good, and he is not suffering from fatigue, so I don't really think anything else is going on, but better to be safe than sorry. So hopefully he will get out tomorrow. Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers. We take all we can get!

bleeding
thats how we found my cancer. I had been working in the flower bed and came in to eat..we had fried chinese dumplings that evening the day before my wife's birthday. i started feeling bad and went to lie down but rushed to the toilet and proceeded to spray bright red blood everywhere. trip to the er and one of the mds tried the ng tube too but i had a gastroenterologist said that when the weakened esophagus tears this happens quite often. coulg happen just turning the wrong way if it is weak enough around the tumor. spent 4 days in icu getting fluids then al the tests came back about the ec and the magic carpet ride began. Y'all hang in there another day of iv fluids makes all the difference Ron0
