I was wanting to hear from people with clear cell ovarian cancer regarding what chemo drugs are used in their treatments. Which were successful or not?

    I am clear cell 3c. I have
I am clear cell 3c. I have only had one treatment so far, so I can't speak for success just yet. I have round 2 on Tuesday (19th). I am taking Carbo/Taxol. If he can get insurance to approve, my dr. plans to add Avistan. Best wishes to you.

    clear cell chemo treatments
Hi - I am Stage 1C, clear cell; just finished (this past Friday) 18 weeks of dose dense chemo - carbo & taxol week one, just taxol the next two weeks, then start all over again. I only missed one week because of low blood counts. I don't know how well it worked yet - I have my scan in 3 weeks. But I can tell you that my CA125 was 1111 when my cyst burst (which is how I was diagnosed) in January 2011, and it was 10 this past week. To me, that is very encouraging.
What are you doing for treatment?

I am IIIc fallopian tube cancer clear cell
I had my surgery which could not get everything then had six rounds of carbo/taxol followed by six rounds of Avastin and now waiting on the results of a biopsy of an aortic lymph node. Sometimes the same exact treatment may work for some and not for others, even though the Avastin dosen't seem to have worked for me it maybe could have been worse and the Avastin kept it down to one node. That is the worst thing about this disease there is no cut and dried treatment it varies so much.
    Good Luck

    clear cell recurrent
I am Stage 1C clear cell. had the usual surgery. had the usual carbo/taxol, then 10 months remission. recurred in Oct 2010. Started carbo/taxol again then I was deemed "platinum resistant"'. had major debulking surgery. Did Doxil for 3 months, disease progressed per the CT scan. Now I'm on Avastin/Cytoxen.

    My debulking/hysterectomy in
My debulking/hysterectomy in 2009 (diagnosis clear cell 2c, ovarian and uterine cancer) was followed by "gold standard" Taxol/carbo for six cycles. Next was 6 weeks of daily radiation. Then I was on Femara (a pill) but only for a few months. Went without treatment for 4 months, and had major disease progression. Have had 7 Doxil infusions, and Doxil was very successful in shrinking the tumors for a while. But now my CA-125 is climbing, and my oncologist thinks Doxil is probably not working any more. We are taking a 2-month break to let my body recover from some problems triggered by steroid use/withdrawal during Doxil, then will look at other chemo options. I'm a little afraid to give the cancer free rein, but I know my body cannot handle more chemo at this point in time. I'm thankful for all the chemo options, but it's like balancing on a razor's edge.

    carbo/taxol
I was diagnosed with mixed clear cell and endometrioid ovarian cancer, stage 2C. Also, I had stage 2 endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the uterus.
Treatment was 6 rounds of carbo/taxol, 25 or so external radiation and 2 internal radiation treatments.
My treatment ended in late 2009 and I have not had a recurrence. I think it is all luck. That some cancers are vulnerable to treatment and others are not and nobody knows which they have.

    Clear cell chemo treatments
Diagnosed stage 4 clear cell in nov. 2009. 6 rounds of carbo/taxol, surgery, IMRT radiation, in Japan they gave me nine weeks of CPR 11 with something similar to carboplatin the first week of every three, then weekly CPR 11 with a daily etoposide pill, and finally a twice daily pill similar to FU13. Now in the states again and have had one round of carboplatin and gemzar. My onc plans to add avastin, but my blood counts have been terrible.

My previous treatment not working. next week my dr is starting avastin/cytoxen. How are you doing now. What are your side affects from this drug combo.
