lumpectomy done, waiting . . . . .
They removed the lump, the sentinal node and another lymph node, the doc told my husband that the nodes did not appear to have cancer in them, but they won't know for sure until next week. I asked my husband if they got clear margins around the lump and he said he didn't think the doctor said anything about that, so I guess we will find that out next week.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and support! So nice to have this place to come to when everyone else is tired of listening to me!

So happy your surgery is over now iluvmykids. When do you see your doctor for the results? I will be praying for clean margins and clear nodes!

And that gosh darn waiting is the hardest part. My guess is if they took the tumor, the sentinel node and one other node, you surgeon must have thought that it looked good and that was enough. Keep the positive thoughts and let us know how you did when the results come back. Glad to hear your surgery went well...

I, too, found the lumpectomy to be rather uneventful....and I had a real sense of peace afterwards, knowing the cancer had been removed...
Wishing you good results and a speedy recovery...enjoy as much as possible this time before getting all results....let yourself be pampered....

After my lumpectomy, my General Surgeon told my husband and I in the recovery room, that it was breast cancer. Knowing that I had DCIS, along with Her2 came 5 days later.
Prayers and positive thoughts coming your way.
Strength, Courage and Hope.
