I am so glad that you have posted on this board. Your Mom is so fortunate to have such caring daughter...and one that is trying to learn more about this diagnosis so that you can help educate your Mom. I hope some day that your Mom feels comfortable joining us, but in the mean time...ask away!

Do you know what type of uterine cancer she has? I wasn't sure what you meant by Stage 1v?

Sorry about that 1v. Its stage 4b, I need to get all the info from Mom. I know it is the Rare aggessive type.She Started Chemo with CA 125 of 518 and its now 43!! I wish It were lower But thats still real good, Right? She Started her 5th round last Tuesday and thats when they told us its 43.Thanks Karen, Cindy0 -

I'm very new to the board, just recently diagnosed and haven't had surgery yet. I was looking for a support group and found CSN. Tell your mom that these ladies have provided me w/ info, encouragement, and support. They truly understand how scared, lost, and overwhelmed one can feel. I know I felt like I was talking to old friends, not strangers. I will put both you and your mom on my prayer list. Best wishes and know we are here for you!

Hoping your mom has a clear scan
Here is hoping your Mom has a long remission after treatment. I know what has helped me is to talk to my daughter. I think she was more upset than I was when I was first diagnosed. Having loving family and friends there to give support is a wonderful thing.

A CA 125 of 43 is great, considering that your Mum hasn't finished her chemo yet. The reference range varies a little from hospital to hospital (and country to country) but where I am (in England, UK) anything below 30-35 is considered "normal". (I hate using the phrase "normal range" because it isn't normal for everyone - there are always a percentage of people who naturally fall outside of the range, even when healthy).
So it looks as if your Mum is heading for a value which will be within range by the end of her chemo - which is the most wonderful news.

My Daughter Cynthia Rose
I would like to say I am the proud mother of Cynthia Rose who has been by my side throughout my surgery and treatments. She is absolutely one of a kind. I hope you all have a child like her. It is true, she has been learning and lurking on this site. While she learns she educates me. I have finally stopped procrastinating and, with her help last night, signed on. It is time to lift her burden of teaching me about you ladies and learn first hand. She loves you all and you have helped her so much. I cannot thank you enough. I do have stage 4 cancer and on July 12th my Dr. said she could possibly give me a break from chemo after the 6th month. Which will be the end of August. I am praying my count drops below 35. It is now 43. I will keep reading and learning from this wonderful site. Elly0 -

You do have a wonderful daughter....it is so obvious that she cares about your deeply and is a true advocate. How wonderful!!

Welcome to this site. You have a wonderful daughter who is looking out for you. I am glad that you signed on. It really helps. Dont search the internet, because it is full of way outdated stuff. A lot of women hear are on the top of the most recent treatment that is out there.
Go and read some of the posts here and you will definitely have a positive outlook.
Having a CA125 of 43 is great. Just becasue a "normal" reading is 35 below, an elevated CA125 can be just from inflammation too. I guess what I am saying don't get too hung up on that number. Stay positive and keep doing all your activities as you can.

Mom Had a little tiny bit Dr. almost missed it on her Diaphram And some on her bladder.Dr Got it all.Her Washings were positive.No Recurrence.She needs to re wright her about her self!But now she is spotting a tiny bit of brown.Should we worry?? She has a Dr. Appointment tomorrow.0 -

Mom went to the Gyn Dr. and had a exam for her Spotting.He said he didnt feel any thing and thought it was from the Chemo and thinning of the Mucous Membrane.Sorry about my Spelling!Does this sound familliar with you gals?0 -

You've mentioned that the doc didn't feel anything. Generally, it's what they see when they look into the vaginal canal that gives them an idea if the cancer has returned there. it could be a tiny abnormal spot that they are seeing. My ob uses an exceedingly bright light to look at the cuff, at least I certainly hope that's what he's looking at.

The doc also checked the anal canal and said I was constipated. When my oncologist asked me if I were I said no. That was within 7 days. Now I'm taking stool softner twice a day and it feels soooooooo much better! I can hardly wait until my 6 months are up and find out what my CA125 level is at. Thank you ladies for being there.0 -

Eat a lot of fiber and drink a lot, a lot of water.
That will help gig time with constipation, along with the stool softener.
