Got scan results today.
Onc did say scan showed 2 nodules on lung (very small 2cm) but did not seem to concerned about it. Said will be doing another scan in 3 months (after a colonoscopy in Sept) to see if any growth. If all looks good after that still will have port removed.
Starting to see some light, but I know this fight will really never end seems like.
Should I be concerned with the nodules? Ive read most that size are benign.

I just had a ct scan for follow up of lung cancer. I show 2 sub plureal 1 to 2 mm nodules that have been there and unchanged since 09. The standard is to do a follow up scan in 3 months in which you are doing anyway. With the nodules being so small theres no way to do a needle biopsy of them as they would more than likely miss them. Because you are being followed closely if they were to grow you would catch them right away. I wish you well. Lori0 -

Thanks for the input. The dr said were acually there a yr ago when I had a PET scan after intitial diagnosis, didnt even mention it to me then... still no growth. Guess nothing to worry about, just any little thing brought up scares you.(radioligists dont miss anything) Was mainly glad liver count went back down to.0 -

Hi Kenny: I had lung nodules too, tiny ones, and have scans once a year now. The lung specialist believes they are in fact scar tissue from a past exposure to TB somewhere (I did work in the Amazon for example and up in the arctic). They will monitor you for a time which is good.
Great re the scan!

Hello, This question is off topic, but may I ask what you did in the Amazon and in the Artic. Thank you, I am just curious. Lori0 -
Kenny Enjoy Life and Celebrate
Kenny,
We were diagnosed and had surgery at the same time so I am glad you are on this board to compare our surveillance plans. We need to trust our doctors and this board is great to have those with more experience tell us like it is. Kenny glad to hear you also had a good 3 month post treatment checkup.
I share with you a little worry about what that scan finds in our bodies that may have been there all our lives. You the lung spots and for me an enlarged ovary. I am on my way back to the Mayo to ultrasound the ovary. For me the Oncologist said the Radiologists think it is a cyst but we should check it out for peace of mind.
My husband and I have planned to celebrate my good scan and CEA results with a trip to see the National Parks in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming in August. I should know the results of the ultrasound by then.
Celebrate with something you enjoy.
