First visit with oncologist
I have a trip planned to visit my son in TX for 2 weeks and the doctor told me to go and have fun, so that is what I am going to do! My son has 2 yr. old twins (born on my birthday!) and I am going to immerse myself into spoiling them!
I will still be recovering when school starts (busy time for a teacher), but talked to my principal & superintendent and they are willing to work around my needs. It was touch telling them, but they have been very supportive and willing to do things so I can remain in control of my program/classroom.
I want to thank everyone here that has responded to my posts and welcomed me. You guys were there when I really needed someone to listen.

Very Encouraging!
Lovemysaints.....Thanks for the update....It sounds like you had a great visit with your Dr. and happy to hear that he was very open to your questions and took all the time needed to answer them. That is a good first step. It is good for your to go ahead with your vacation plans as that will be a nice way to take your mind off of the C-word and relax!
Things look promising! Keep us posted!
Best to you always!

So glad the appt went well and sounds like a good doc. Love the part about going on your vacation...that's what I'd do as well. Life is so precious and we have to enjoy each and every moment. Get into those new babies and love them to death.
Ever read up on dog therapy? There's a lot of good things with dogs and petting them. Ever notice how when we see a dog we "sorta go off into another world"...oh,,ooo and giggle...before you know it we've forgotten our bad thoughts and immersed our mind into the love towards the animals. Dogs are so good for us, very therapeutic!!
Best to you and plse keep us posted on your progress...

I am happy for you that you
I am happy for you that you still get to go on your trip to visit your son and grandkids.
Those panic attacks can be tough but I am glad you had your hubby to help you through it. It is good too to have someone else with you on your doctor's visit because we only hear some of the stuff.
I am glad too that your work is supporting you. It really makes going through this a little bit easier without worrying about all the "other" stuff.
My best to you in your upcoming surgery. We are here to listen.

My husband has been a saint bernard breeder (show & therapy) for 40 yrs. We even bring our dogs into the school where I teach for children to read to and to help with anger issues. With 12 dogs on premise (11 saints (one is 6 weeks old) and 1 Boston Terrier), I do a lot of petting so my stress level should be 0!0 -

Lovemysaints--Your oncologist sounds wonderful, and the information you have so far seems to indicate a good prognosis. For now, surround yourself with dogs and babies. That combination should be a potent stress reliever.
Keep posting, and we'll keep being here for you.
Enjoy your vacation.

Glad you posted
I love the dogs!!! They are beautiful. I know they bring you joy.
I get panic attacks too. Sometimes it is all too much. Just have to stop myself and think. I am fine. Right now in this moment. It helps me to focus.
Sending you positive thoughts and prayers. Keep posting. Norma0 -

Posted annother pic of the dogs swimming on my profile. I was telling my hubby how cute Trixie was. I love doxies. Our neighbors have 2 and the saints love it when they come visit at the fence. Of course the saints think they are puppies, not small dogs. It's funny, but saints do not know they are big; they totally think they can still fit in your lap for a bellyrub.0
