Chefdaddy just called me.

I just spoke to Mike, and he asked me to do a post and update everyone. He is at the hospital with his son. They have given all his options, and they had him chose what he wanted to do. If he did nothing, they figure 1.5 - 2 weeks is all he would have. Doing a low dose of chemo, to try and spare his liver, may buy him a month or so. The third option is to do a full load of chemo and give it both guns, to try and have a chance at possibly kicking it's keister again, but it could just kill off his liver. He has chosen to try and fight. He has chosen the last option. I was in awe back in 1992 when my younger brother made his choice to stand and fight and have a bone marrow transplant against impossible odds, and I am in awe once again. I hope and pray that Mike's son can beat the odds and that he can survive this. Please pray that he can kick this thing, he was in remission from leukemia for 14 months, hoping he can do it again.

Mike told me to tell you that he appreciates all the support that you have given him, and that he thanks you all very much. I know he needs our strength and prayers, so let's keep his son, and Mike and his daughter in our hearts and prayers, and if you are not one who prays, please send heeling vibes, light, love and strength.

Thank you,

Sweet

He asked if you got off ok and if you were in Honduras yet, and I told him I hadn't heard yet. Glad you are there, and if I talk to him before you, I will tell him you checked in with us.

    Update
    Hi guys,
We've been at the children's hospital for two weeks now. My son is hanging in there but it has been very difficult for him as his mouth and throat are full of very painful sores and most of his skeletal is in severe pain. Today the pain team put him on continuous Dilaudid pump and they gave him a push button release for additional Dilaudid. To everyone's amazement his liver has been functioning fairly well despite all the chemo.
We're going completely day by day, watching the liver and blood readouts.

Thank you everyone for your support and prayers.
