My dad (age 61) was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with stage iv adenocarcinoma with mets to spine and ribs. My dad is a very healthy man and always has been up to this point. The oncologist we saw actually said to us that if he didn't know better he would question whether he actually had cancer. We live in Northeast Arkansas and haven't heard great things about local cancer treatments. I did a litle research on the internet and tried to find a better place to go for treatment. My dad has decided to move to Dallas and receive treatment at Harold Simmons Cancer Center at UT Southwestern. Has anyone out there received treatment here or have any comments about this place? We are trying to find the best place for him given his diagnosis. The Dr.'s and staff are very nice and seem to be very knowledgeable. Just hope we are doing the right thing.

If your dad is going to Texas for treatment, he might want to check out MD Anderson, which has a great reputation as the #1 cancer hospital in the US.0 -

Thanks for the advice. We are going to try Harold Simmons first but aren't opposed to moving to MD Anderson. We just want the best care available.0
