Gorgeous NY doc said my CT scan was "perfect."

CA125 is 9.

He thinks I may have another UTI, however, and should have my bladder checked, just to make sure I don't have a prolapse. His thinking, since I have to have hernia surgery, is that I should have both at once, if bladder surgery is called for.

Does this never end?

Love the CA125 number buy Boo to the UTI. How did you get the hernia? I had a UTI for no apparent reason....is this a side effect for our initial surgeries? I mean they were in there digging around finding cancer cells....maybe moving the plumbing. Nope it never ends it is either a physical thing or an emotional thing....

    Good for you, Carlene!
I'm doing the happy dance for you for those exciting results....now you can enjoy the rest of your summer.

The increased episodes of UTIs are common in menopausal women because the vaginal tissues atrophy from the lack of hormones and no long "protect" the urethra from outside bacteria moving into the bladder. Without using some kind of Premarin vaginal cream, I don't know if the problem can be resolved.

Taking cranberry supplements might help--they've been shown to prevent bacteria from embedding into the bladder wall.

    Loving your CT and CA-125s!
Not as happy about you having to have more surgery, but if you do have a prolapse, taking care of it would probably help those pesky UTIs. I'm so very thrilled with you results... I'm toasting them with my morning coffee... way to go, Supergirl!

Mary, the hernia was a result of my debulking surgery. My incision did not heal properly (from the inside out), and about 6 inches of it had to be opened back up (in the doctor's office....ouch), then packed twice a day for weeks and weeks.

Incisional hernias are common after big surgeries.
