Dreams (Really nightmares)
I need to start counseling soon.
I read about Cancer dreams, and of course it has to do with a loved one having cancer, but also something negative in your life that has consumed you physically, mentally, or emotionally.
Thank you for your continued support, and for allowing me to feel comfortable sharing this with all of you. Now I am crying because I just miss my dad, and I wish none of us had to go through this type of devastating, heartbreaking, excruciating pain.

"As you liy sleeping, from the past evils come creeping, unaware that nightmares are no longer fictional, vonruble & alone you're now attacked by nightmares of your own reality. Your physical strength does nothing as the only way u see heaven is looking up while falling into hell. You don't ask for mercy, You accept what you know you deserve. Eyes spring open was it a dream or r u n aliving hell!"-tank; the dreams, thoughts, and nightmares are surreal at times. That's something I wrote after waking up in a painic sweating and unaware of what was real. So I know what u mean about dreams, hope it makes ya feel better knowing your not alone, it's funny how hard it is to explain nightmares to your friends, it seems as if night terrors are something we grow out of.0 -
Yes I have
My 13 year old son starts chemo next week and I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was the one having a port placement and having chemicals pumped into my veins. It was an awful dream, but it helps me, as best as I can, to have empathy for my son. I guess I think about him going through what he is going through and wish so desperately that I could trade places with him, that is what actually happened in my dream (nightmare).0 -

My mom was diagnosed with
My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer in May 2010. She did her last chemo in December. I have just started sleeping and the bad dreams have diminished. At some time I had to lightly use sleep aids, because I was not able to function due to lack of sleep. Counseling may help, but someone on the caregivers board they discussed caregivers having post traumatic stress disorder. So don't feel like you are the only one going thru it. When my mom's scans come up I can't sleep and have freaky dreams. Now my mother's illness has made me super sensitive to suffering. I break oout and cry when I see things suffer. I passed a group of homeless people and went thru several tissues. Now I am stressing in my dreams cuz I know one day I will need to bury my parents and I don't know how ro bury a goldfish.

Hey
We've been working through my mom's cancer. I'm a pretty vivid dreamer, and so is my husband.
My husband recently had a dream that he got diagnosed with lymphoma (sp?), in a really dramatic fashion.
I had one last week (after being told my mom is end-stage in real life) that I was holding and rocking her in her end-stage state in an apartment in Prague. We don't live in Prague.
I WISH we could control our dreams. Because Brad Pitt and I would always be riding a unicorn on a rainbow if I could!
If it's interrupting your sleep too much, or disrupting your ability to sleep, you may be right. Counseling could help.
(and I just said a prayer to lift you up as your mourn your father's passing. xoxo)
I never had counseling until my mom's diagnosis (despite other stuff that may have warranted it), but in my new experience, counseling is lovely if you find someone who works for you. My lady is pretty practical, doesn't push drugs, and keeps our sessions very focused. Hope this helps!0 -
