You would think that everyone had left Chicago or come into it yesterday. Nope..First we had no cable, phone or internet for awhile last night and then it dame back on. I'm not conplaining part of our town has no electricity..it could be worse and my smart phone does the web.
So Tom couldn't call and tell me pick him up. He had not even been there 24 hours. So he had to call a friend to come over. My son and I and the dogs were up late, late or early this morning so we were asleep...I called him and he said he can go any time. OK..wait til I get dressed, feed the dogs etc and I'll be on my way.
Traffic was still bad especially at the Toll Booths...even I Pass was running slowly. But I finally got there.
The oncologist that came this morning gave him the GOOD news that his tumor had SHRUNK! Those are blessed words to hear. Stayed the same is ok but shrunk...well it's my birthday present 7 days early.
We went to a bd party for a good friend of ours...he has early Altzheimers. His wife needs new knees but can't now. They have twin boys who grew up with my boys and they came in...and one has a little girl and a little boy. They add joy to any gathering. So I had to husle when we got home to make the taco salad which I haven't made in many years..
In 18 days it will be two years since he got his cancer diagnosis even though it was another month til it was diagnosed properly and treatment started the day after Labor Day 2009. Right now I think we are one of the lucky ones, he's still here.
Have a wonderful 4th weekend...ours is a lot better now.
