Basal Cell Carcinoma on the eye lid and surrounding area
Just returned from my 8th week doctor’s appointment and it looks ok, the eye and eye lids are still sore and the double vision has not gotten to much worse, they will still have to do some more minor plastic surgery on the lower eye lid make it close a little tighter. The worse thing about all of this right now is my vision is only 20/60, needs to be 20/40 for my return to work! (PA CDL regulations). Just hope the eye starts to see a little better and I heal a little quicker.0 -

I've just been dx with bcc on the left eyelid including the margin - it's 1cm in size and seems to extend into outer corner. They biospied it last week and now I wait till August for the surgery to remove it - ordinary excision not Mohs. They estimate removal of more than half the lower lid - hoping to spare the tear ducts near the nose. A week later they'll start reconstruction using the Hughes flap procedure and sew my eye closed for 4 weeks - which horrifies me! Then apply a full thickness skin graft taken from my neck. All procedures are done under local anaesthetic as a day care patient. It all sounds horrific to me. How have you coped? I do hope your eyesight improves. They never mentioned any risks to mine.0
