Thanks for the prayers! I seem to be one of the lucky ones, so far.
I'm *Really* grateful for all the good advice, and good wishes!!
The bilateral mastectomy went very well, and I got the drains out after only a week. Now I'm beginning to do those exercises some of you told me about, slowly.
I'm wiped out energetically, of course, but there's been a fraction of the pain I'd expected. A lot of tightness, which feels natural enough given that I went from a 36D to nothing, so it's been pretty easy to cope with. And I have a perfectly flat chest, even with symmetrical incisions; the surgeon did a fabulous job. Thanks to those of you who advised me to speak up!
Nodes were clean, only a stage I...feeling soooooo much gratitude. First visit with the oncologist on the 8th.
So I have a post-surgery mastectomy cami that velcros up the front(with drain pockets), and a mastectomy shower shirt (ditto), that I don't need anymore (already?!? I thought I'd need these for as much as 3 weeks). So does anyone know the best thing to do with these? Sadly, I'm sure three's someone out there who could use them.

Glad you're doing well
Hope it continues and you make the speediest recovery ever. Must really be a load off your mind to have no nodes and stage 1...still the beast, but you can beat it.
Is there a breast cancer navigator at the hospital where you had your surgery? They would probably be able to tell you about donating the items that you no longer need. Yippee!!
Wishing you continued improvement,

It really sounds like the surgery went smoothly and that your recovery is as well. Please let us know how your visit with the oncologist goes on the 8th. Your energy will come back with time and some gentle exercising. That walk outside everyone recommends has made a big difference for me.
I donated my mastectomy garments to my local ACS as well.
Hugs,

I view your photo .. and posts. So thank you, for providing calmness for me.
Push yourself gently everyday .. when your body says 'enough', then rest, relax and regroup.
Continue to post, when possible.
Strength, Courage and Hope.

Sister V.,
I haven't responded before to any of your earlier posts, because I didn't have anything to share or add -- I didn't have a mastectomy, didn't have drains, etc.
(Sometimes reading this board feels a little like playing Jeopardy!, where I just have to wait till one of you asks something I know: "Civil War Battles" -- darn, I don't know anything about the Civil War. "Potent Potables" -- crap, I don't drink. Ooh, ooh -- "State Capitals" -- I know those! :-)
But I'm so glad you've joined us here, and so happy that your surgery went so well. Please keep us posted on how you're doing, and how your appointment goes on the 8th.
