Friend's Mom

Hi all!

Basketcase here. I had posted in the last few weeks about my friend Tamara's mom. She was diagnosed with some aggressive form of leukemia in April and chemo did not work so on May 26 was told she had days/weeks. Tamara has been a basketcase and there were issues with her sisters. Bluntly put Tamara was the one with the realationship with her Mom. Her sisters are just horrible! Anyway, Tamara called this morning to say that her mom had passed away this morning early. Her mom was at home. Needless to say Tamara is very distraught but holding up as well as can be expected. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. I didn't think about it until I got off the phone with her but her mom passed away 10 months to the day Charlie passed away! On that note our 36th anniversary would be next Tues. the 28th. So I have decided how I will spend the day. I have a gift card for Regal Cinemas (that ironically Tamara gave me!) So, I plan to go see Mr. Popper's Penguins (I did that book with my reading group when I taught 2nd grade) and then I have a Longhorn's gift card and plan to go there for lunch and then I am helping out with crafts in bible school at my church from 6 -8:30 that night; so I figure that will be a good way to spend that day as this is another first for me! Thanks in advance for the prayers and for everyone of you I don't know how I would make it if I didn't have this website and y'all to turn to. God Bless!

Jan (Basketcase)

    Sound Like a Solid Plan
Sorry to hear of Tamara's trials.

Just as Charlie filled your heart the other anniversaries, this year, you can fill your imagination with the flick, your belly with Longhorns, and your heart with Bible group (still plenty of room for Charlie, I reckon). Do well.

    36th Anniversary
    Morning Jan.....

It is still your 36th annivesary and always will be for those future ones coming....

Sorry to her of Tamara's mother, and her relationship with her sisters for that matter.

The movie looks funny, I plan on seeing it as well....

Have fun, and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

What better way to spend your day than doing things you enjoy. Although we are sad when someone we love passes (and miss them terribly), it is good that you are able to enjoy normal activities. My condolences to your friend Tamara. Karen

Praying for Tamara and family. Have a fun night out, and enjoy your movie. It looks like a cute one. Jim Carey is usually reliable for a laugh.
