Well my tube finally sprung a leak I'm in the ER with a new white tube waiting for an x-ray to verify placement. Wow this is fun for a Monday morning :-)

    Boredom
    I too recently had a bout with it, so I tried Posion Ivy. What a blast! And the best part is that it's the kinda fun experience that lasts awhile, and is filled with itching sensations all over the forearms and hands! Thought about doing the Clinton thing (inhaling), but I have so-far refused that thrill!?!

    Ugh
    Have to ask - were you watching a food channel on TV in the ER? White tube? Can you see through it? Hope the placement was good, and you weren't stuck hanging out there even longer.

    I like to do stuff the hard/fun way too. I was able to get my feeding tube removed 3 weeks early by just having a "fun" staph infection at my tube site.

    I wish it was the food channel
    I was absolutly tickled when the Dr came in with not one, not two but four different PEG tube varieties I could have inserted and I was able to choose my future belly rubber. There was a lovely clear tube with a matching set of three red ports. Didn't match my eyes and the guage was too small so that one was out. Next was a beautiful white tube with a red port however the guage was simply too small so it was rejected to second runner up. In the finals were two soliid white tubes both with an impressive blue print showing that "Mr Ross" was the developer/seller however the first runner up was a 24 guage with an air baloon whereas the winner was a 26 guage with a liquid baloon.

    I'm ready for American Idol!!!!

    So is this like the muscle car of PEGs? Do you PEG your own concoctions, or do strictly nutrition drinks?

    I don't know Pam, you know men, they are always exaggerating about size.....

    First treat
    First treatment was tonsil cancer in 1996. About two years ago I became `one of the blessed with some long term after affects (Dysphagia). Didn't need the peg back then but now it helps. I'm lazy and use 100% store bought nutrition.


    Cisplatin, 5FU and rad treatment.

    Have had a ball with the 15 years I mihjt add.

    Yep tell me about those side affects, I am only 6 years from last treatment and boy how they can all start at once. The sad part for me is that not even my doctors can tell me what to expect in the future. When I ask don’t you have others who have taking Rad to the head twice like me, what are some of there side affects. Then they start looking at each other and one by one start walking out of the room. I sometimes feel like I might be the only NPC survivor who taking Rad twice to the head and still living. I guess I am the Guinea Pig in this right now and they are just waiting to see how long I survive. I am planning on a very long life....

    Same Treatments
    Jan 1996, Cisplatin, 5 FU and 38 rad treatments. Chemo was 24 hours per day for 5 days straight with three rounds that were three weeks apart all while doing radiation at same time. Surgery in June. I do not have side effects like yours, I get tired very easy, loss of short term memory, very little concentration and different pains every day in area starting at shoulders and above.

    Good to hear you have had fun, I am with you... I have had all wonderful since then, just different degree's of wonderful
