A warrior lost her battle

I am so sorry Molly to hear
I am so sorry Molly to hear the sad news. And I am sorry for the loss of your cousin, who sounds like a very special person.
And thanks for reminding us of the importance of avoiding infections. I keep hand sanitizer in my purse and I discreetly use it (especially if I have to shake hands, have skin to skin contact, or have been around a crowd or sick person). Also, I have had the pneumonia vaccine and I always, always get my yearly flu shot. Some immunologists believe the flu shots make your immune system "smarter", more able to fight other infections.
The funeral sounds like it was lovely and exactly what I would want--a group show of solidarity in wanting an end to this awful disease.0 -
To a Pink Warrior
Dear mollz,
You have my heartfelt sorrow for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin.....
I agree about staying away from people while your white count is down...
My onc once called me and said "If you are not doing anything that can't wait, go home! If someone sneezes, with you WBC number, you would get pneumonia and possibly die from it!"
I rescheduled my day, and went home....strangely, I was feeling fine!!!
That is such a caring was to show support....everyone in pink...sending hugs to you and her family....
Hugs, Kathi0 -

So Sorry
May she be at peace. And I will keep her family and you in my thoughts and prayers. I too have a problem with my CBC. It is always down. It just never bounced back. It did go up enough for me to not have to go to the oncologist for 2 months, but last week it had dropped again so I'm back to being a bi-weekly bee sting patient. Thing is, I was never told to avoid people, yet I have not had a bad cold or infection so far - knock on wood!!!
Pease be with all of you!

beloved cousin. I will keep you close to my heart in prayers and positive thoughts.
Having dealt with WBC issues, and Staph infection during my chemo/surgery journey -- this really hits home, and I know first hand .. how easy we can end up in the hospital with an infection. I continue to take precautions, and always have a package or two of anti-bacterial wipes with me. Some folks rolled their eyes, however, I prefer to be safe -- while trying to get back to pre-cancer 'normal' counts.
Strength, Courage and Peace.

Condolences...
So sorry for your loss! It really seems to hit home even more now when I hear of people passing due to this horrible disease. One of my classmates from high school passed away on Friday due to breast cancer. She fought a hard fight...She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Prayers to you and your family. Also, that is good advice, and a good reminder to all to be careful about infections...
Blessings to you,

What a loss and a shock to your family. I don't think many (including us) realize just how much we risk when undergoing chemotherapy. May your cousin rest in peace.

This is a terrible thing to happen.Fighting this dreaded disease and then losing the battle not because of it but a infection. My heart goes out to you and your cousin's family.A tragedy to have this happen.
I Didn't the importance of masks till lately. I seen people at the store wearing them.I know one lady who is working and taking chemo and she doesn't wear a mask. She is on her 3rd year of chemo.Cancer came back after 8 years and in her bones but she is a fighter.
What a nice funeral your cousin had. All the family wearing pink was a wonderful way to remember/honor her
